Has anyone ever looked at some of the COE's and thought about making a regular truck into one?

I know I have, so I whipped this up real quick using my DD.

Thanks man, I think I liked you before to my build on it http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2563951

:D I wish I had a shop to work on it so I could repaint it and swap the engine, the*****py weather the last 2 years has made that impossible to do outside... poor thing has been sitting for too long, I miss driving it!

Does anyone remember seeing a pic of a blue/silver '48 Ford with a sleeper and flat bed on the back? I thought it was on this thread but can't find it. I'd really like to find out what paint was on it.

No, it was a light blueish silver but along the same lines as the above truck. Thanks for posting that one though, its pretty cool looking.

Canadian and American GMC's are the same as far as I know, this is indeed a 36 GMC, but not totally...

It started out life as a 36 GMC 1 ton long body panel truck, for whatever reason in the late 30's it was cut off t the belt line, and then the cab area was replaced with a 37 Dodge truck cab that was grafted onto the old panel truck sides making it a ute. the top of the hood and the back few inches of the hood are 37 Dodge, the rest of the hood side is 36 GMC. When my dad got it in 94 it had no driveline and no radshell, and GMC shells are hard to find, we only have ever found Chevrolet shell, and a few years back we found a 36 Maple Leaf grill for it in an old barn in Ontario.

Cool --I have thought of custom ones made of the heavy guage woven screen wire, Sometimes GMC used them on special limited run special order fleets.

Look for oil field shaker screens, some are the same woven stainless as a lot of early 30's cars, I have a large piece of it that is exactly the same as my 31 Pontiac.

COE buses really do it for me, I hardly ever see any, but i think this GMC is a home made one.
