Well I am wondering if anyone else is bothered by the fact that people are always parking so close to your hot rod that you know that they hit it with their doors. I park away from the main crowd anywhere I go, and yet come out to find some munch with his door inches away from my car. It is not some one with a crappy car, its sometimes a high dollar car. It just makes me want to kick it. Thank goodness I am a nice guy. I love to drive my car every day, so I accept that this will happen and just fix anything I find. Does this happen to you?

I drove chubbie to K-mart one day . when I came out a gal-pal of mine was standing looking at the chubster with this horrified look on her face. some old guy parked with his bumper on TOP of my front bumper!!!!! his bumper was tight against my blinker!! long story short she sat on my fender and i backed out! not 1 scratch!!! nowhere!!! dent nothing!!!
Friend of mine chewed on me saying i shouldn't drive the fat car, saying it's to nice to drive....WTF?

Some people are just dead from the neck up. All you would have to do is make like you're bending over tying a shoe and lean back your butt into their door.

I will allways drive them. Amazing what they do. I may not have 60,000 in my car, but when the Range Rover 4 inches from gets a scratch, that dumb ass goes crazy. The butt bump might be good, with my big ol butt I will total it.

I always chose a parking spot as far away from other cars and dilibertly park in the middle of 4 spaces.
It may piss off some people but I think that it tells others to stay away.
    It works for me!:cool::cool:

Sometimes if i am in a lot and ther is a nice rod or something i will go park next to it. Even if I am in the family Altima I'd rather have someone like me park next to the car than some idiot.

So maybe some of the peeps are near the rod are good folks running blocker for you- I know I do. i wish it were always true.

But in my Model A Speedster I'll gust jump on their hood to get in my car more easily.

  10. You drive a corvette? Yes it does piss people off and it makes others want to park as close as possible to you precious car.

We had a guy in high school who drove Daddy's vette to school and he parked it like that. We wedged him in daily and once when he left the t-tops out of it, somehow a sandwich made its way into the black leather interior, along with a dozen Shit-Hawks (Heron Gulls) that crapped on the seats.

Some woman did that where I used to work in Miami, I parked less than one inch away from her, barely fitting my 65 Bonneville in one of the four spaces she parked in. A friend of mine thought she ran into my car.

  15. Always and I own Keys. If you catch my drift.

I parked my Galaxie in a quick trip once and went in to find a cup of coffee. When I came out there was this fella parked nect to me in one of those limited edition Corvettes. He had his foot on my bumper talking to a couple of chicks. So I walked over and put my foot on the snout of his vette and began talking to him. He came completely unglued I loved it.

I don't see anything wrong with parking out of the way and taking up spaces. If its up close to the (grocery store) your asking for it. If its where no one wants to park whats the harm? I've been known to park in a secluded area, and take my fair share of space. If i came out to my car that I intentionally parked away from the "crowd",and you were parked "to close" to me. You would be the one to lose!!! Ask me how I know!!!!!

I don't take up four spaces but I will park in a space near the end of the lot. You know most people try to find the closest space to the door, and I could use the slightly longer walk. I do like the bend over butt into door idea.

In a parking lot I try to park in a place far away and next to a curb so that I reduce my door ding chances by 50%.
Kids getting out of a passenger door are culprits of flinging open their door....but they don't know any better due to........

It could be the only saving grace for driving a Rat Rod. I'll bet the Fat Cats wouldn't park within a door swing of them.

I usually parked the 48 out away from the rest of the cars and alway's try to find a spot where someone can't park directly in front of it. Nose up to a pole most of the time.

Down here in Florida, people are DUMMMMB!
One guy banged my car while opening his door...his reply, "Good thing its not painted yet, Huh?"
I kicked the side of his late model Buick with my heel and said, "Good thing there's plenty of body shops in town, Huh!"

If you drive them and in normal use situations like going to the store they get bruises. Just a fact of life. An engineer I work with has a very high end exotic from the land of pasta and that funny tower that needs to be levelled. He says if he sees a rod or some other type of classic he'll park next to it. His reasoning being that the owner of that car probably gives a shit and he'll be less likely to suffer typical parking lot damage. Kinda makes sense.

    You said the R - R word:rolleyes:

Yes, park next to a nice car, or next to a planter that way atleast one side is protected.

  30. The dings I hate are the ones directly over each other, about 2 inches apart.Someone smacked the door getting out and then smacked it again getting back in. Fatso Dents. I guess the prevailing theory is that all cars are fair game in parking lots. It`s no wonder people leave their cars in primer.
