Man it has been a great weekend here at the Flats. My pal Bobwop from the north country of Wisconsin showed up on our doorstep Thursday night and it been non stop action since then. Friday morning after a big breakfast I rode along as he delivered a nice 37 Ford coupe to a happy customer near Wichita, KS.

Then we made our way back north towards home and stopped to see our good buddy Engine Pro 5X who lives at the sausage capitol of Hillsboro, KS. It didn't take Bruce long to show us his best kielbasa...

It was noon and the sausage king himself did not disappoint as he sliced and diced and grilled the meat to perfection.

The weather was near perfect as we sat outside in the warm sun and enjoyed our sausage sandwiches, chips and beans. Here I am doing what I do best.

Then we moved down the street and toured his business shop which is Hillsboro Racing Engines and we were joined there by his trusty sidekick Matt (fritzbaldm) who is listed in my last will and testament after saving my bacon last summer at the KKOA Lead Sled Show while Bob and Bruce stood by and appeared to enjoy observing my near death experience.

While there I purchased some engine rebuilding parts and then we bid the boys goodbye and headed north to Salina and visited our friend Col. Ron who had purchased a nice 50 Merc from Bobwop last summer. Since then the car has been used in a major motion picture not yet released.

Then it was home to PF headquarters where Mrs. PF had organized a party with Bigwop being our guest of honor. Several of our car friends came over and we started out with hamburgers, hot dogs, potato salad, beans, chips, beer, wine and etc.

The car performed beautifully and did LONG wheel stands along with quick doughnuts by using the wheel brake on one side. Let's just say that the screams from the backseat were MUSIC to my ears !!!

We had a few old cars parked here too. This nice Model A belongs to my pal Larry who also owns the maroon T bucket Peter Beater.

That "Poverty Flats Limo" looks like a blast to cruise around in. Is is licensed for the road?

And then on Saturday morning we went to Salina to the first car show of the season and met up with my sidekick CuzzinDeke for a couple hours, at a good lunch and then toured a private museum that belongs to a friend of mine.

My pal Tom hung out with us all day and we drank some coffee in the afternoon after Tom did some maintenance on Bob's truck. We had already loaded the yellow Henry J in the box truck.

Then we managed to eat some more homemade ice cream so we could keep our strength up long enough to watch the Final Four basketball games on TV tonight.

I would like to give Bob a a big public THANK YOU for bringing 4 fantastic hot rod engines to me from Wisconsin. I am now the proud owner of 2 Olds Rocket V8's, another Lincoln Flatty, and a very hard to find Lincoln Y block. He is a good friend indeed.

I was there last year and will attend this year again. Love St. Paul in the summer. But meeting the elusive paperdog is easier said than done. He lurks in the shadows....
