Gorgeous car, really quite a transformation from what it was to now.

  5. There is a pair of Nash sedans at a junkyard near me.

  7. I think I have a few spears in the pile here Grant. Will bring them up your way for the June NSRA/Bay Rodders swapmeet if I can find them before then.

And I reckon the rear splats look awful haha. Have had to reduce the size of the rear tyres & rims on our car because they wouldnt stay under the guards. Still have chromies and 3 inch whitewalls tho.

Todd, you're just a hot rodder, you should join the lowrider scene, fit whitewalls and spats, and dump it in the weedz. then cruz it low and slow.. ha ha , are you still fitting air bags to your Nash? or given that expensive folly away..

392-33, Youre a lucky guy, you seem to have quite a good supply of dead Nash cars for sourcing parts, from what I have heard, there are about 17, 1937 Nash's on the road in new Zealand, from vintage thru to hotrod.

To Ratmotor.....Wow a goldmine of Nash parts, shame its so far away. :(

  11. Airbag stuff is long gone. probably still in a box back in Gisborne. My Nash sits low with Jag front & rear. When its finally done, it will be my luxury car - with Vortex supercharger so its not scared of hills.

Im not so good on the "slow" bit of "low & slow"

I have been looking for a coupe for a while when I found the one in the picture, so its not like the coupes are easy to find. The 4 dr was a local car (within 150 miles) that had been for sale for a while. From what I have seen you can get respectable 4 dr's from $1,500 on up.
I even found the motor that I wanted for the build, a 265 Aussie in line Hemi for less than $500. No cookie cutter here.

Aussie 265, they are good motors, we have them here in Chrysler valiants (till the late 70s early 80s, when they were in production) are there many in America?? I thought a Chev or Ford 6cyl from the states?? would be the go for parts availability.

dad nash.jpg This is my father standing in front of my grandfather's '37 LaFayette in the '40s. That car is the earliest car in my memory bank. I believe I was about 5 in 1949 when my grandfather traded it for a newer car.

When I was a young girl, my father inherited a 1937 Nash. He sold it in the mid to late 1970's. I can still smell the interior of that car; a scent that brings back fond memories of my childhood. It was black, tan interior, w/ minimal rust. The running boards were another part I'll never forget. I remember sitting behind the wheel (age 8 or so), wondering when that car would be mine. Didn't happen, but my love for them has never faded.

Dad still has the antique license plates (NJ), which I'll be given when he passes away. Those will be nailed into my kitchen wall, completing my dream kitchen, which is full of antiques and unique items.

DH & I attend sev. car shows a yr., most of which are in southern NJ. We've attended a few in , but have never come across a 37 Nash. Your pics. & comments were a nice trip down memory lane. Thanks for sharing!

I was thinking about chopping my 37 Nash coupe. But after seeing yours I have second thoughts about it.
