hey guys, im almost ready to close a deal on a pair of 37 coupes and a fordor 38. theyve been sitting in the same spot for the past 25 years at least and me and my dad have been dealing on then for about the same amount of time. the guy is finally willing to sell! the plan is for my dad to do one as a 37 and ill do the other with the 38 front sheetmetal. i searched but couldnt find much for pics of hotrod 38 coupes-heavy rake, late 50s vibe. any pics for insiration would be great!

  11. Here's a sweet 38 deluxe Street Rodder picture I happen to have on my computer. I'm currently working in a 38 dlx club coupe so I have a few other pictures I've saved for reference as well.

cool 38s! keep em coming! is the top section of the grill part of the hood sids like the pictur above on 38s or just on 39 standards? i think mine will likely be hoodless, kinda like the really 'hot rod" styled 40s u see runnin without a hood and a mean rake.

Is it Deluxe or Standard front sheet metal? Ryan has a 38 Deluxe coupe. Harrison used to have a cool one too, but he sold that. The new owner is on here somewhere.

It is a 38 standard coupe front sheet metal with a deluxe hood. Do not know what it would take to pull that off. Below is a pic of my standard from '79... the hood does not go down into the grill

  17. This is my old 38, now my fathers again who originally built it in the 70s, very, very little has changed since it was built.

This last pic obviously when it was first built, you can see little has changed.
For you Aussies the car next to it is Dennis Kilner's, thats him leaning over in front of the car.

  26. My first v/8 car was a 38 standard tu-dor. What a sweet ride it was, drove it my last year of high school. A big performance car after my 33 Chevy six, but moved from the 38 standard to a rocket 88 49 bubbletop coupe. Wish I had em all back today. Cool coupe, you will have a ball, thanx for all the pix gang. ~sololobo~

If you are going to do a '38 coupe, then do a '38 Standard. Sorry '40 lovers but in my humble opinion, the '38 Standard was the best looking fat fender Ford made. I am looking for a '38 standard clip to redo my '39 standard if and when I ever get done with my build from hell... Just saying...
