Features The Definitive "MILD CUSTOM" Photo Thread....

Discussion in 'Traditional Customs' started by Centurion9, Mar 31, 2011.

  1. 40studedude, i love your caddy but id call it mild ,mainly because you can still tell what it started out as

i dont think you get into full custom until major things have been changed I.E chopped ,sectioned , channeled things modified that cant be unbolted and changed back with stock parts

    i prefer mild customs

i hope this thread doesnt ever stop

Thanx, but I'm almost positive a chop, a section or a channel would put a car in the "Radical" category...any major body mod would put the car in that class...at one time, in the past cuz I've forgotten the ISCA rules, a certain number of mods would place a car in the "Mild" class, a few more would put a car in the "Full" class, and any major body mods would place it in a the "Radical" class. Someone here has to have an ISCA rulebook from years ago...

Yep, I agree, this thread is so very cool...most of us that grew up in the 50's/'60's could associate with a mild kustom cuz in the Midwest states, mild "kustoms" ruled and that's what most of us drove, before muscle cars took over.

Cant stand the pre-65 only shows. Here's my 68 New Yorker. It's pretty mild.

  10. Roger, although I don't believe anybody is categorizing the cars strictly by ISCA rules, this is the ISCA classes:

    Conservative - 0-3 body modifications

    Mild - 4-6 body modifications

    Semi - 7-10 body modifications

Full - over 10 body modifications

Radical - Any number of body modifications at least one of which is Chopping, Channeling or Sectioning.

Thank you LMick...I knew someone would have the ISCA list of classifications...

And yes, you are correct, no one (least of all -me) is categorizing any of the cars in this thread by those mods...but it interesting to note exactly how ISCA classified customs...and at one time, ISCA used to be the biblef or all car shows...

Man, you read my mind. Even the color is out of the ordinary, but so perfect for the car. Getting rid of the 56 side trim makes the car look so much sleeker.

Mild Custom in the works. More work in the future includes: front bumper mods, shaved door handles, and possibly changing the rear bumper.

    This thread is awesome!
