!930 Packard 733 4dr,converted into a P/U in 1945 by Carl Hellstrom,President of Smith & Wesson, was bought new by his Mother.Went thru a few owners and we bought from Jim Gates in Maine, wasnt sure what to do with the wood bed on the back that was all rotten,so we had a friend make up the box and converted it into a wrecker, since our Dad used old wreckers back when he started our salvage yard,we thought it would be the perfect Christmas gift.So we gave it to him Christmas Eve of 2009...He Loves it.....

That car looks beautiful on the big screen.. :D If you don't mind me asking, what would that car be worth at an auction??? And would lowering it make it worth more???...

  15. Thank you Trotter, I appreciate that. Good luck selling yours, most people are holding on to what money they have, waiting to see what's happening. Government and media ain't helping any with their dire predictions.

Found http://dallas.craigslist.org/dal/pts/2280114066.html craigs list with a guy that is selling 1937 Packard parts,he has, two hoods two front fenders and a body for a hundred bucks. Says if somebody doesn't get them then he is sending them to the crusher next week. Be a shame for that to happen.

figured this might be a good place to ask. Are there any mild hop-ups that can be done to a '35 Packard straight eight motor?

Hello All I have a custom packard project titled 1953 Packard Custom Project here on the H.A.M.B. The last pages show better progress as I did not start the chop. I have purchased a 1956 Packard Executive four door for the rear end, fins - tail lights and 352 Packard V8 I need to have rebuilt . I have two running 327 Straight 8 but want the rare V8 and four or five speed stick. Long way to go but will be one of a kind with the best of fifties Packards. May us the Torsion Bar chassis with electric motor to raise and lower instead of bags. I have a clean original 53 Four Door I do cruise. Sorry could not attach pics from smart phone. So three Packards so far and gathering parts I guess I must like them.
PS I hate winter - ready for Lonestarroundup 2012
