Hot Rods Finally found me a 3 window. Schwing!!

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by Firepower flyer, Apr 6, 2011.

  1. I've always wanted a 35-36 3 window but nothing ever worked out.I haven't looked like crazy but always keep my eyes and ears open.So I get a call from a good friend of mine last Sunday and he's telling me about some gas pumps that he just picked up (we both collect them)and then busts out would you be intrested in a 36 3window Ford coupe?I said are fucking with me?Hell yes,so he gives me the info and I made it happen.I brought the old girl home today. Its completly apart but it is all there, the only thing that didn't turn up was bumper brackets and bars no biggie.Sorry so long just a lttle excited hope you enjoy it the pics suck on my phone I will get better ones.I have to sell one of my 1930 model A coupes to make it happen but well worth it,I listed that in the classified.

  9. Thanks!!Right now I'm just looking for more parts ect,I have to finish a 31 A coupe that I started on,and sell my other A coupe so this is going in the corner for a little bit.As of right now I'm leaning on a real simple build, drop axle juice brakes, skirts and a y-block hooked to the factory stick. That may change a half dozen times by then but it will be very tradtional, plus I have a good running 292 already. These things look so sexy as is it's hard to mess them up,of course I've seen some not so good.

Nice score - I need to find a friend like that. 35/36 3W is top of my bucket list cars.
Look forward to seeing how you get on!

Great find, looks like a good one that got pushed outside 10-12 years ago. What is "The Rest of the Story" on the cars history.

You did good my man ! My First car was a 1936 five window. It rode great. I would trade even for my current 32 2-door sedan project in a heart beat. Best of luck on your project as 3 windows are very rare and desirable. Tom

I didn't notice if anyone said this yet but...you SUCK!

Was the car in Wisconsin? Was there anything else there of interest? - I can see some stuff in the background of your pictures.

I had a '36 five window that I sold about 20 years ago. I tried tracking it down a couple years ago. I was able to track it to Eau Claire, Wisconsin and then the trail went cold.

I am very envious of you and the car looks like it is in pretty nice shape. Have fun with it.
