Vintage shots from days gone by!

There's one restored and on display at the NATMUS museum in Auburn, Indiana. It's right next to the A-C-D museum. Both places a must see. Don't know if it's at the museum NOW though. I was last there in Sept 2010, and it was out on loan then.

Great stuff as usual Moe, the bridge with the boys in post 24516 appears to be the same in post 24518 and the two combined give a great perspective on what was and what is. Thank you for all your pics. I would also like to comment on #24519 as well and say practicality unfortunately wins over beauty as the before (covered bridge) and after also beautiful load bearing modern bridge shows in a very cool contrast.

 

I tend to look further into the pics when there is somebody or something that hints at the the temper of the times.

At one point the flood ravaged the town and washed out the bridge but the town stood firm

 

Note the full disc futurliner hubcaps that are not on the rig during transport on the lowboy. The hubcaps are kept in a sawed off 50 gal plastic barrel in a lower storage bin. The repro tires are cast-molded with futurliner on the sidewalls like the originals. The cockpit is equipped with a drivers seat with 2 additional behind the driver. This rig must have been a hot driver with no ac in the warmer months.
