Hey guys, my brother and I are working on a buddies front end. We're putting in my dropped I-beam and Im just wondering if anyone done one before? The I-beam is already cut to length so we're in the process of building the new frame. Need help with mounts, spindles, steering, pretty much any advice you guys have will be great. Thanks!

Everything you need is here at least three and four times over. Take some time with the search and you'll find some great stuff. Especially putting in a droopped and straight axle.

Ed, by "g***er" I think he means a car jacked up so high you need a stepladder to get in, with "kewl" stuff like the rear springs mounted on top of the back axle, bolt-on ten-spoke faux spindle mounts, a non-functional moon tank zip-tied in the grill, a tunnel-ram with a single four bbl top, bogus speed shop lettering all over the side, a comp cams "thumpr" and WWW pie-crusts on "Radirs" on the back. Oh yea, and lets not forget the 3.55 rear gears. Now THATS a "g***er".:D

I hate it when I have gas too, but sometimes I find that IF I take a big poo it goes away. Then I feel better. So I guess you could say I dont like gas, but I do like a big poo, at least sometimes.
Three window Larry aint as dumb as he looks...

Ironic, but usually the g***er cl*** lovers are the "g***er" haters! Whoda thunk it??

Hey, look at me! After 1500 some-odd posts, I FINALLY figured out the "multi-quote" function!

Hey, I tried that "I ain't as dumb as I look" to a truck driver once. And he said, "yeah nobody could be that dumb"---damn he was good, heh. Haven't used that line since, LOL!

Johnny, I have posted my 64 GTO straight axle build with pictures here in the Forums. I ***led it 64 GTO G***er ( Look it up ) But quickly found that I had guys ******* on here all up in a bunch cuz I called it a g***er. When if I would have just called the thread 64 GTO Clone Straight Axle Build, the sun would have rose in the east and set in the west without any incident. Some guys here have a lot of estrogen in their systems so be careful what you call things. However, MOST of us know what you mean and get what you're taling about. Just look around here as a bunch of us have posted pictures of our builds as we go along. Any questions you can email me at Superchargedill@yahoo.com or call my cell 918-340-2383. Happy to help you however I can, Dil

...and "some guys here" bristle at things being mislabeled, along with self-serving attempts to re-write hotrod history. Since the HAMB is about traditional rides, it might be worthwhile to do a bit of research on the vernacular used back in the day. Keeping our history accurate, and p***ing this history on to the younger guys is the responsibility of all HAMBers...

  28. I think he means street beast. But that's Ok with me.

I have actually built a gaser or two. I have never started with an axle I usually start with an engine then build the car around it.

But yes look around here there are a few threads about how to hang a straight axle under an otherwise stock car. I think that it would be easier to just bolt a car body on a truck ch***is but I guess the car frame will also work.

It's kinda hard to define what a g***er was (maybe not, just look at the rule book), but it's pretty easy to define what it wasn't. It wasn't a car you would find parked on the spectator side of the drag strip, whether it had a solid axle or not.
