i hit the year and a half mark last week. my county had the highest unemp rate in the country for a bit a year or so ago. we are still at like 12.5% but the state rate dropped so extension programs ended last week.

i've been lucky and made some of the lacking $ up through buying and selling and i had a pretty good savings. haven't had to lean on the wife yet which is good since she's putting alot of her money into grad school.

38 years old and i've never been out of work for more than a few weeks before this. kind of tired of hearing "over qualified". if i'm willing to work for what they're paying(not much) my qualifications should be a godsend.

may have to couple a few part times together coming soon. but things are looking up even with 12.5% as it was over 14% not long ago here...ken....

  4. I have no idea what I am going to be doing yet. To be honest with you I will do whatever. I am not above anything. I have cleaned toilets and an office just for work. Like my grandfathers said...you do what you have to do so your family can enjoy life.

I never understood "over qualified"*****, seems to me they would be happy to have someone they don't have to baby sit. I was once told my work ethic was too much for a shop. I told them in an interview that I never call out sick and will work overtime for the companies benefit. They said in todays job world people like that would make the rest of the employees feel inferior.
