    Keep up the good work.

  2. Looks great but lose that fugly truck grill. The "A" grill looks better but a '32 passenger grill would look the best.

  3. I never thought I'd agree with this statement but know something... He's right!

And I'd be more than happy to take that ugly truck grill off your hands...!:D

But seriously 28-29 A's look better with the stock or a chopped 32 grill.

I agree with some of the others. The A shell looks much better on there. To me, that truck grille only looks good on trucks.

Looking good, though... keep it going!

After reading the original poat and all the following reply it reminds me of a few things. Back in my Hi school days in the 60s there was a guy that would cruise the parking lots in a 57 Ford with a 390 in it. Everyone was always egging him on to roast the tires. He was cool about it, never took offence but calmly replied "I built this car for my enjoyment Not your entertainment". That says a lot. I don't call my car old school or new school but it is my school, built to suit me. My 31 A with a 341 Desoto hemi is just that sort of car. I have never enjoyed bulding a car as much as this one. It was the kind of build that I couldn't wait for the next day to start after that day ended. I had many restless nites thinking about what I was going to do the next day. I really don't care what anyone calls my car nor do I care what they call their own car. What "offends" me is the guy who is too lazy or lacks the knowledge or doesn't care to build anything himself but plops down 20 or 30k for a shop to build him a "streetrod". Now he says I are a streetrodder. He has no clue what it takes to build a car, I guess he is too busy watching the Simpsons. Be it a Muscle car, old school hotrod, jalopy or whatever if you ain't turning the wrenches, busting knuckles and popping a sweat then don't claim the be a ..gearhead or... This is not ment to be ragging on the guy that buys a built car then makes it to suit himself.
The next thing that comes to mind is that flatout51 is a lucky man. You have a Dad that is willing to spend his hard earned money to influence you and is willing to participate with you. Give Dad a hug for all of us that no longer have our Dads around or did not have dads willing to go that extra mile. Tell him thanks and enjoy having him around.

I have a 31' Tudor Sedan on 32' rails also. I can relate to the "rat rod" comments too. Forget the fully detailed motor, chrome dropped Superbell, and all the other goodies. It seems to the general public any older car that does not have a shiny paint job is a rat rod.(My Sedan is a satin green). Yours is looking real good and I love the stance in the first photo above! I will be following this one!

I can't get my dad to stop calling the Nash a "streetrod", but he's not a car guy and that's what he calls any old car. It's just ignorance usually... let it roll off your back, life is too short. It usually takes a lot of years under your belt until you figure that one out.

Man, that car is coming together nice and looking good.

I'm really wanting to my '29 on Deuce rails.

What are you doing about the vin on the rails? Are you using the model A #'s or anything at all?

I do believe I actually saw that car last summer. The guy had more money and work******** in the junk he had tacked on it than if he had built a clean little hot rod from the start.

This little A keeps getting closer to what wanted to build for the 8BA that I have stashed away waiting for it's time to happen.

Way cool car, story and build. If I had kept my A it would have wound up similar...at least in my mind's eye it would've!

(I like the A grill, too, by the way.)
