I wouldn't change that woodgrain, it's too cool IMHO, awesome Falcon!

Love Radirs, fixed the dents and marks, shaved the handles, touched it inappropriately, chopped the top, lowered it, I would do this to one if i had one that wasn't the stretched one I have...

I have a suggestion for this type of GM truck, I wanted to do this to my 55 Panel before I sold it, and I can't do it to my stretch because I am keeping the body stock... But if you graft the rear part of a pick-up cab where it juts out onto the rear fenders of one of these it will make it look a lot more finished, and just plain cool!

I have a smart phone too... what a POS...

I can do some of what you want, but I need more detail because my brain is running on half capacity today (migraine still) how do you want the labeling? A, B, C etc with A2, B2, C2, Etc. on the opposite part? Did you want a grid, or outline of the pieces to make them more defined, or some flashy 1980's Maxheadroom style grids that follow the lines of the parts (hard to do because it's guesswork) or do you want me to add rainbows and unicorns?

Do you need text on the various components?

Any takers on this one? The Crown Vic part isn't necessary, as we cut the roof off today, but if somebody still wants to take a crack at it the guys in shop class would get a real kick out of it. Thanks again guys!

  6. Nothing fancy, ABC thru XYZ continued thru both pics. Start with A on first finish with close to Z on second.
Nice bright dimension lines for hole centers , material thickness, off sets diameters. Scale drawing is not important only a clearly marked reference.
There's no need to do both pieces just the piece on the right in both pics . That's top and side view. Unless it becomes DIFFICULT AND CLUTTERD FOR YOU, that would be the only reason to do the left side of the photos.
I don't think that there would be more than 12 dimensions in each pic.
Text if you want 1947-48 passenger car lower shock mounts.
Thanks man and again nothing fancy.

You want 26 lettered points? I'm guessing they would be spaced evenly... but wow, I was figuring a lot less then that...

  9. Thanks for thinking about it. I must be having a hard time explaining What I need.
if I thought pencil lines would show up I do like that. Evenly spaced lines would not be dimension lines. Dimension lines in the context of blueprints are a universal method used to tell the viewer what's being measured. Scale, and proportion proportion is not important.

You guys are amazing artists with this photo shop and eyes for proportions. My project is more mechanical and not artsy in any way. If your not familiar with fabrication or blueprints or napkin sketches that maybe that's why it's difficult to understand the simplicity of what I need , how it should be done or why I need it.

Thanks again and hope your headache goes away

That's so bad ass!!! Thats like exactly what I had in my head. Especially the one with the scallops. Chop is rad, too!!! I like the C pillars you used. Any chance you could make the roof green on the scalloped one?

Again, that just looks too kool, man. Thanks!!!!!!!!!

I'd say its about 3-4" front 5-6" rear. I think by moving the rear of the roof foward and making the trunk longer really helps make the car look longer. I agree how its a totally new look to the car and I think a little work could really pay off building it!

i didnt even notice till you pointed it out, and i couldent agree with you more...when you cut the roof and leaned the rear down is that where it ended up naturally? it looks really slick...
then you fill the deck in between, nice.
im just wondering about the glass situation(s). the rear winsheild for example, is there another cars rear glass that would accomidate?
and then the front? what are the options? plexi?
the sides also, i guess the rear glass wouldent have to roll down , but the front doors would. Hmmmm? is plexiglass typical to use or is custom glass the way to go???? these are just general questions, not targeted at anyone in particular, just throwing them out to ponder. what are your thoughts?

Something like this may be your best bet.

Plexi is supposed to be terrible. I´m not speaking from experience, but enough people have said it on here.

The side glass should all be flat laminated plate glass. No big deal to get it cut or cut it yourself if your that kind of guy.

Rear window is probably tempered. Can't be cut in any sort of feasible sense. either lay it down or find another glass that is close and massage the metal to fit the glass.

Where I cut it and moved it down is where the roof ended up. I slanted the B pillar as well. As for the glass, Ive heard the same thing as James D about the plexi, although I have not tried it myself either. KrisKustomPaint is right about the side glass being able to be cut and the front and rear being tempered and very dificult to cut. Like he said either find a similar glass, or you can hire a glass company to cut yours but most of them will not be responsible for broken glass. Another option is get custom glass made(very, very pricey) or you can keep the stock glass and sink it down into the cowl.

well, i know that tempered glass cant be cut.
is glass from these years tempered?
the side glass IS flat, so if it can be cut that would be the way to go, ideally.
ive seen the oddball customs video on you tube , hes forming a sunroof for one of his cars 'in house' , i was impressed. maybe the 'new' plexi is better? what do you guys think? like acryic or something...
and the whole sink the glass in the cowl thing, i suspected thats what some builders did but never actually seen how they did it, know of any threads or links on that?
    thanks guys.

The Front windshield is normally laminated safety glass which can be cut but its tricky. Some back glass was laminated safety glass that could be cut but I can't think of any particular model off the top of my head. Mostly its just back glass that is tempered. Unless you're talking late model stuff. If the side glass is curved Its tempered.

Just look real close at the edge of the glass you can see the laminate if its safety glass.

Please excuse the OT car, but I’ve always wondered what you fellows might do with one of these:

Bellflower style? Redlines and 5-spokes? Moonshiner? Moon discs?

I’ve always thought the XJ6 had pretty classic lines, and might blend well with the earlier styles. My wife has recently expressed an interest in picking up one and stuffing our extra 327 into it.

    Thanks in advance,

    Dave

Hey guys, could you 'shop this truck for me? I know it's not your usual request, but a color change of the truck and wheels is what I'm after.

    Much appreciated!

I'd like the truck main color in the teal, and the roof top and back of the cab white, and the wheels silver, chrome, gray, just not that green!

    Josh

    The truck:
