64 Cyclones came out AFTER the Caliente. The Cyclone did not have all the trim down the center of the body.Chrisman's Comet was a Caliente, not sure why it was called a Cyclone. ROY.

Jack would like to know the extent of the damage to your engine. His mother died recently and he couldn't make Knotts or LAS.He will probably be at the Hurricane,UT meet on Easter.I am hoping to go with him.

Steve;I have only had a chance to start tearing the engine down,I hope to have the heads off today.I've talked to Jack a couple of times since he lost his Mother[never easy],he seems to be OK.It was probably good that he didn't come down for Knotts, sounds like it was another All Mustang show!! ROY.

    What's the BJ curse?

  10. Barret Jackson, ruined the car hobby. Turn old cars into bragging rights for the elite rich. Just my opinion.

Funny I was looking for something totaly unrelated and saw my friend Larry's name mentioned in this post. I'll call him when I get home tonight, he has lots of stories about those days.

Jack Chrismans's daughter Lana works for John Force. She checks the thread here from time to time.

64 Cyclones didn't have side trim other than rocker mldgs, but my Cyclone had Caliente trim installed on it by a prior owner in the 60s. I'd imagine other Cyclones ended up with trim added aswell.

Mike;that article was written by me as the editors were thinking about doing a "grass roots" series. They wanted pictures and a story so I sent them a lot of photos[mostly professional] and the story. It got totally cut up to what you saw and put in the back of the magazine. The saying was a play on all the magazines toasting[boasting]about showing the "quickest, fastest"whatevers in their mags! Vintage Fuel magazine is now an e-zine,not very active. ROY.

Came home to a package on the doorstep from Chico at Mooneyes. A copy of the 2010 Christmas Show. Some great footage of drag racing, as well as the show, and girls. Order up a copy, take a couple beers and sit and watch! It has a great shot of Todd's Comet on a launch, as well as others!

Anyone heading up to Vegas in May for the NHRA race? Anyone, anyone???

Someone was looking for information about the 1964 "Shake Rattle N Roll" MCoy Comet.

I originally could have bought this car for $3000 in 1978/79. Was talked out of buying it. I lay awake at night and kick myself in the ass everyday. Looked for it's trial and found it. I have been trying to buy this car for 25 years. Sits in a barn. What do you want to know??
