UPDATE! Video on page 2! Magazine Features on page 7!

The Strange bird had been in hibernation at home for the winter, and its time to get back to work on it. I'm getting it ready for the special gasser display at Viva Las Vegas 14, and then off to Eagle Field in May for it's first trip down the strip.

I have wanted to put injection on the car for some time now, and the recent sale of my Tudor made that possible. Can you say Hilborn 4 port kids? I knew you could.

    Parts ready to go on:

    Timing cover needs a makeover:

Polished and painted between the fins:

Pump installed along with 6" extension.

4 Port on top with scoop. The Hilborn scoop is on backorder, so I made the old one work for now:

Just waiting for the AN fittings to come in the mail now:

I've been busy with other tidbits too.....

Upgraded the radiator to a triple pass unit. There are twin fans under the shroud pulling air downward. The bird runs nice and cool now

    Transbrake button on the wheel:

Belts finally installed. I'm not happy with the looks of them, but it's better than being dead.

Manifold pressure gauge on the dash.....gotta know how much air is getting crammed in:

Made some stencils and brushed on some lettering on the fenders and trunk. I plan on doing a full on paint/lettering job later, but this will have to do for now. Jeff Norwell is currently working on the designs for the final version when its painted all shiny.

Last, but definitely not least, Rod Powell stopped in for a visit. Awesome.

That's all for now....I should have some video of the car running the 4 port in a few days.

Been following this build from the beginning. Love it. I'm curious to see how the rear radiator all works out. I want to do the same but I don't want to cut the holes in the trunk lid. So I'm trying to figure out other different ways to do it. I thought of opening up the floor and draw from the bottom of the car but that will probably be hot air. I also thought of running a lot of louvers in the trunk lid but with the openings facing forward to get air in. Still working on that. Living here in Phoenix the area, the cooling system really has to work. What did you use again for moving the coolant form the rad to the engine/and back? I can't remember. Mark L

I love it! The injectors really finish it off nicely. Please post up some video when you get it running. Very cool.

  21. 4 port ! It only gets better with this car, can't wait to turn up the volume to "full pull" status when you post it.

The radiator works pretty well. This thing makes ALOT of heat, and the combination of a good electric pump, a nearly airtight shroud/ dual fan combo and a triple pass radiator keep it cool. Without the fan controller it idles at 140 (fan always on) and with the fan controller setup it keeps it right in the 180-190 range. I haven't tried it in hot weather, but if it makes a couple passes before it gets hot I'm happy.

tune that suspension, lol! I'm sure you got me covered with that set back and lung -I've only got 462hp at the crank and on the Paxton or bottle i'm limited by my rods at around 600 crank hp, max- that's why i went 4 link- since mine was originally a raced gasser, i wanted to go funcional instead of retro (although i'm sure there were a few gassers with four links instead of ladder bars) ((and vintage eye candy is way outa my price/talent range))

If i can get her dialed in, i just may have a chance to give you a good run before you come blowin' by me like a freight train- cant wait to try it!!! We're hoping to have her on the road in August, but that may be optimistic...

If we do get a chance to meet up for a run- i'll wager a burger, fries and a coke on the race-deal?
