Im looking for some crazy wide rims for my 33. Current rims are non hamber corvette z06 rims that are 18x10.5. looking for something in the 16's for some tall fat tires. Going to run matching skinnier fronts that wont break on a turn like drag skinnies. The fenders will either be widened or removed, plan is to widen for now since i don't like the look of my independent front exposed.

Show me/tell me what you got or suggest!

    Here is the car.

Anything much over 8.5" wide is pretty much non traditional ion the HAMB sense IMO....

Thats it! something like that would be perfect. Any side shots? Does it look funny with larger front rims than rears?

I understand too wide isn't traditional. But my car isn't either, i'd get the cold shoulder at a traditional meet.

Don't tell anyone but I usta run these, Mickey Thompson 21.50s on 15 X14 wheels. Even ran some bigger Hoosier 22.50s on 15 X 15 wheels for a while, but I'm a 10.50 X 30 on 10" wheels kinda guy now though.

Larry whats your truck bed width? My spacing is currently about 44 inches so i want a comparison point on how far they will stick out.

I don't own the truck anymore but the bed width was about 40". The actual tread width on the 21.50s is about 14", the 21.50 is sidewall to sidewall.
I never measured the outside to outside width of the tires, but it's a bunch. A friend of mine owns the truck now, If you need the measurement, I can probably get it.

I don't NEED one, but if you happen to run across him at a meet or anything it would be nice. I have alot more work before i buy new rims and tires, and may even leave what i have for this year and worry about it next. I just want to drive the car for the summer.

  11. I know from experience they are no fun in the rain. Depending on your definition of "fun".

My wifes Honda's maintenance light is on. I take it to the Chevy dealer. Whats wrong with my Honda? I don't know sir, we work on Chevies. Yeah I know, but what's wrong with my Honda? Um... sir, you are at a Chevy dealership, and you are asking for help on your Honda. Yes, I know. I know it's not what you do here but what do you think is wrong with the Honda? Sir, you don't seem to understand, if you take it to a Honda dealer they can help with your questions. Yeah, I know, but I'm here now so what do you think is wrong with my Honda? Sir, we're going to have to ask you to leave, your Honda is a fine car, we just don't service or sell them here and don't make exceptions. Well fine, you guys are a-holes. I'm out of here.

  16. Depends on what period "traditional" your talking about! Those wheels would be "traditional" for the late '60s. This forum for the most part favors an earlier style. (I do too!) But, build it for your self, not for everybody else. If you can't handle criticism, you might want to join a "street rod" forum!

I don't mind criticism. As long as im happy with my car i don't need you to be. Something more 60'ish is better than 00'ish vette rims. Hot rods were always radical to the norm, im more on the side that nothing is really traditional when it comes to hotrods unless you specify an era your basing it on.

16x13's with 345/55/16 sport trucks... biggest that used to around other than pro street tires. the 315/55/16 version works well on a 16x10 as well.....

Been there, done that threw away the soiled skivvies. Nothing like a pair of extra wide rear tires and a quick rain storm to cause increased excitement in a guys day.
