Interesting work on this pickup with moulded in bed - not an Aussie ute but a US pickup modified by a previous owner of my 1940 Willys woodie wagon....

I got to drive this restored beauty - 35k original miles as I recall and it topped out around 55 mph even with factory overdrive. Had a factory radio too....

Lastly the rarest of all US Willys from this period - an ad for the Cantrell 1938 Willys woodie. I think this was probably a spec. built prototype on a 1938 Willys by Cantrell to try and sell Willys on the idea of them building woodie wagons for the Willys passenger car line. Rather than just discuss it in principle, they were serious enough to produce this vehicle....

  19. Here's a couple I doubt have been seen... they hardly ever leave the guys garage... I hear he finally sold the red coupe, but he still has the 4 door, and a Panel Delivery, that he hand made from a destroyed car, can't find photos of it, but it's pretty bitchin'...
and they are all steel, no fiberglass or carbon fiber, or anything that wasn't there when they were built.

hey Weasel how you been :)
That bed was hand fabbed in Maine by Mike Weeks (custom car builder) and Phil Chapman (orig owner of the truck) to match the body lines of the doors . They started off with the inards of an S10 bed if I remember correctly .

    Great history on the Willys

I dusted off the old photo album and decided to post some of my old Pics That I took in the early 60's.

Can anyone ID any of the photos taken at Half Moon Bay? Would appreciate it. Minds getting a little fuzzy these days.

    Take care.......TOM

    Gives it a unique personality.
