Wow! I know where there is one of those big fin Plymouths, maybe a ride to the country would be a change of pace...NO wait, I've got too many half-done, sorta started projects as it is...
OK...OK...it's in Fayetteville TX, about 3 blocks from the square near St. John the Baptist Catholic Church on a cross street between the Church and the Fayetteville Store. Go get it.

Glad you are enjoying the build. As I recall the wheelsbase is something like 106.5 I believe.

A few tacks a day adds up. I only get a few hours a night working on mine so i understand your pain.

If i can ever get out to texas I will be certin to drop by robleticia's place and let him spend the day working on mine. I will even bring the Beer.

Make him work first, then give him the beer. Beer makes him sit in a chair in his driveway staring into the garage daydreaming. :D

Man if I had a few hours a night I wouldnt know what to do with myself.
Single dad + 4 kids = not much spare time. But I wouldnt trade it for the world! :)

  17. Over the weekend I was given a AMT 1958 Belvedere model, still sealed in the box out of a friends stuff to get rid of in a move. Thinking to myself how to make something cool out of it I thought I was being original in desigining a retro '60's show-rod. I started drawing cut lines on the body with a sharpie. Somehow I have missed this thread completely, and my concept is very similar to this full-sized cars actual build . I haven't started any cutting yet, as I have several other models in work right now, but this build is helping to refine my plan.

Keep up the good work here!

  18. Love the build. Like others I've also toyed with this concept, but with my slate already full and more in the wings, it is great to live it out through your thread.

Love those aircleaner scoops. Have you thought of tying in the scoops in front with something finned aluminum in the back, and hiding the tail lights behind the finned aluminum something like the 67 Coronet 500?

It looked to me like using the outside portion of the first Edsel tail light example and standing them on end would be a natural with the angle already there and all. Someone might have to play with that one in photoshop.

Trick car and great style. Can't wait for the next installment.

    Doug.

While there is no questioning the craftsmanship and its provenance (Pfaff), is it just me or do the proportions look all wrong on that car?

Personally I am really digging the the back tires though, just in case some off roading was in order.

Like a caricature car, or the shortend VW bus that the tires almost touch, perhaps.

Be great as a clown car or a Shriners' parade vehicle. Proportions are completely whacked. I suppose they could've made a worse wheel choice though....
