    YEEEEEE HAAAAAAAWWWWW!!

Not sure how Alan felt about this, but everyone loved the mayhem!!!
I wonder if this could be a legal "organized" part of the event?
Instead of a burnout pit, a Donut Contest!
Letting one car out at a time to make some noise and stir up some dust.

Near the end of the day of course

no it couldnt be an organized part of the event.

As it was I was lucky not to be charged to repair the field.

Note that I said "I" was lucky not to be charged... not the people doing the donuts... me. My money is on the line.

if this happens again we likely wont be allowed to use the fairgrounds any more.

Its always amazing to me that people think this kind of stuff is OK and that there are not consequences to their actions. There is a time and place for this kind of stuff... a fairgrounds full of people is not the time or place. Sorry to be a downer... but there are realities to consider.

Here is the ray of light though..... I'm here to tell you there is place to do allllllllll the burnouts you like...... We have a drag race in Oct. Bring 5 sets and tires and two transmissions you dont like. Use them all up. That is the time and place to do burnouts.

They have a mud bog at the track as well. If there is interest in running your car through the mud bog, throwing up some dust.... I can check with the track and see if we can make that happen.

    How would that be?

    that's great!

  8. Hey, I concure with you 100%. That field will now be useless for a long time. It's like the burn outs on the street on the brand new layed brick in Chehailis Billetproof. I just don't get doing stuff like this without having permission? It's a way to end a great show. I hope there are no long term repercussions from the few that decided to create the problems that you had to deal with. Hope to see you in WA in a few months.

dont ever have a problem with anyone showing up.

damaging the property? costing me to repair the property? doing burnouts/donuts in inappropriate places?

    Not so much.

Again, there is a right time and place for that kind of stuff. Come to the Drag Races and one can do burnouts for HOURS on end. Bring 5 sets of tires, several transmissions, several rear ends.... blow them all up. Have a ball. That is the time and place for it.

Heck, I'll look into the track letting us use the Mud Bog. If anyone is down with that... let know. Mad Bog, a place to do dirt donuts.... the works.

J.Lockwood, here's a pic with me and the Metal basher trophy you gave me, thank you so much, there were cars more deserving than mine. The car you put on the trophy looks eerily similar to mine.

HELL YEAH!!!!!!!!!! I am glad you got this Nads. Someday we have to hook up when I am down in your neck of the woods.
This could not have gone to a better person as far as I am concerned and your car spoke for itself.

    its a JD Twin Cam.

Was outlawed from racing back in the day cuz it was just too darned fast. That made HD pretty happy actually.

This bike was done up right. Lots of period correct speed parts and modifications. ITs not every day we get a late 20s- early 30's era hot rod at the show. Slam dunk for the award.

I have to agree with Alan 100%. I thought it was pretty bad to watch those guys tearing up someone elses property with no regard whatsoever for it. Then there was the dust it created, lots of cars with open intakes that got enough sand from just normally sitting there. I was surprised that the cop didn't do more than he did.

It wasn't the image I wanted to see hot rodders viewed in, we want to always be respectful of others and to be invited back somewhere. We have enough trouble keeping ourselves respectful in the eyes of JohnQ without creating more problems for ourselves or our events.

    Just my opinion.

  21. Does anybody know of any skid pads in Florida? Like they use to train people how to drive in a bodyguard/limo driver/cop type situation with the sprinklers and stuff?

That might be fun... wet drifting in a hot rod...

Hay Smoke, you did yourself proud. Great photos. I don't need to look any further. At least I was able to see photos and not a bunch of blank PHOTO BUCKET squares. Great job.

You see them every so often at auction, but they arent as common as muck... and they are pretty expensive when they do show up for sale.

    here is one for $70k
