Great to see this again, thank Mutley. I believe it was at this race(Lions) that Dale Armstrong had Frank Pedregon's motor in it. The primered front was from a parachute dragging wheel stand. We had another wheel stand after we installed the 396 and then installed wheelie bars. We also raced Atkins and Hardcastle's "Stinger " which NOBODY beat. Thanks Mike

    WOW! GREAT SHOT MUTTLEY!
I'VE ONLY SEEN A FEW PICS OF THIS AT MY OLD JOB.
MY OLD BOSS (linwood hardy) RAN THIS, HE TOLD ME WHEN THEY FIST BUILT IT, THEY LEFT THE STOCK SUSPENSION IN THE FRONT, WHEN IT CAME DOWN FROM THE FIRST BIG WHEELIE, THE SUS. BROKE RIGHT THROUGH.
ALWAYS THOUGHT HE WAS BS-ING ME THAT HE OWNED IT, TILL A BUNCH OF PEOPLE CONFIRMED IT

These pages are from Custom Rodder - Sept. ‘57
I remember my Dad taking me to Hampton to see the drags and there was a local favorite with a new ’57 fuelie kicking ass in the stock classes.

Here are a fewof what remains of the Corvair and the Blue Hell vette as a gasser and on of the 66 vette at Lion's. I believe someone is rebuilding the Corvair using this body and the original chassis using a Chyrsler motor-SAY WHAT?:(
