I didn't get a chance to talk to the owner, but it appears to be a late 40's Dodge or Plymouth. I'll try to find out for you today, or if someone here knows the answer.....

There were not too many Cadi's at VLV, and certainly not as nice as yours. Here are a few pics for inspiration though.

Well I did find 1 40/41 Plymouth coupe at VLV today. I was surprised that there weren't any more. Also met up with Corey ("vegas" here on the Hamb) and his very cool Hemi powered 29. It was very nice to meet you and to take the time to talk and explain your great car!

The weather has been great for the last 4 days, even got a tan. The turn out was massive with 100's of cars and thousands of people, especially yesterday. It was a very relaxed atmosphere with everyone enjoying themselves. I'm glad I went, thats for sure. Time to pack now and prepare for the long trip back to the Netherlands!

Wait, you have posted pics from both vlv and your build. Have you figured out how to be in two places at once? Is that how you get so much done on your car? !!! :D :D :D

The ARTDCO Buick did it for me. Sweet looking car!

I just got back home a couple of hours ago. We certainly had a fantastic time and wouldn't have missed it for the world. Who knows, maybe next year I'll go again!

While I was in the US, I picked up a 19 gallon fuel cell and some dropped spindles. Also got a filler cap at 45 degrees, making things easier. Luckily I got past customs without too many hassles. Going to test fit the fuel cell on wednesday and then will have to figure out how to mount it exactly.

Hello, from across the Pond. You have a very nice Coupe indeed. I am debating weather to go all Mopar. I'm building a '40 Plymouth Coupe with a 455 GSX engine. It is hard to justify selling the 455GSX to be a purist. I went with a new chassis and Mustang II front end. Air bags at the four corners. The chassis is almost done perhaps I can find a nice 392 Hemi before I cross that bridge. Good luck on the build it looks great!

Thank you powhatan42! It's good to see you're going all the way. Whether or not you want to be a purist is up to you of course. I don't know what your present engine is worth, what the budget is, etc, but I just love the old Hemi. Considering you're almost done with the chassis, why not get a plastic mock up Hemi and weld the engine mounts in place. This will then give you time to sell the 455 and you can start looking around for a 392. What transmission are you using? (You will need an adapter as well.)

Are you going to start a build thread? Would love to see some pics. Let me know if I can help you in any way.

Here are two pics that may push you in the right direction.:D

Good luck on your build. Eric/farmer12

You're right, if this won't change powhatan42's mind, nothing will. Considering there has been no response from him yet, I think we can assume he's cleaning up his 455 and getting it ready for a sale. Looks like we can welcome another purist to the scene. How about some pics of your new 392 powhatan42?:D

After a fun week in Vegas, it was back to the workshop today. I started off by changing the filler neck to the 45 degrees neck. Loosely placed the fuel cell in the rear for a test fit. I think this will work out fine. Still need to figure out how to support and hold the fuel cell in its place.......

Next on the list was to cut out the remaining post under the hat shelf and fabricate a new one. Welded this on the previously made part with the holes in it. I had to hammer the bottom part of this slightly to allow for the floor coming up slightly as you move towards the tunnel. I wanted the top part to be lined up perfectly with the drivers side....I'm a sucker for details.;)

  30. Looking good! What size (gallon) fuel tank is that? Also, will you be extending the fill neck? It looks like it sits back far enough to make it akward to put fuel in.
