I hadn't had the chance to make sure everything was still tight from my weekend drive.
So I checked it out last night and everything was still in the right place. It takes a long
time to check things when you are using vise grips...LOL!! Plan on driving it the rest of
the week, month maybe the rest of the year.

    Happy Trails, Mick

I'll hollar at ya. I bought a real kool magazine yesterday and you got to check it out.. It
was published in 1948 and its about a guy test driving a new 49 Merc. He drove it from
Washington to LA. I'm going to post the first part of the story tomorrow. Its a kool read...

  8. Hey Mick,

We are stoked about coming to Dewey for the first time! I am supposed to pick up the '50 ford from the upholstery shop today and get started on the final prep work for paint. We will be there even if we have to come in primer!

Sorry guys for not getting back with ya, we just got back form Austin and we are all fired
up. We will have our swap meet like we've always has in the past. Throw some parts or
whatever in your trunk, someone will buy it....

Looking forward to checking out the Chevy, I didn't get to check it out enough last year at
Denton. Your doing a great job working over the Chevy and can't wait to see the changes.
Kustom Kings are a great bunch to run down the road.

    Happy Trails, Mick

  13. Well crap......as you know Mick, I havent been up there in the past 3 years. I decided that this year I'm going to put on my big boy undies and make the trip.......then I called to get a room and guess what happened......NO ROOMS (at least not at the main two hotels)! I know thats a good sign, I just didnt want to be far from the action! lol

I have never been to this event, but a friend of mine said this is the coolest show around. Not sure if my 64 straight axle build would fit in, but if it does, I may tow her up. Just depends on how much I get done between now and the show. May get to drive her. I've been plugging away every chance I get. My buddy Scott is riding up with a friend in his F100. Hope to meet some of you there. Dil

  24. sure it will fit in see ya there

  25. Is it time yet? After last week's storms and what's coming back up this week, think that will purge the system and all will be clear? ;) Don't matter, it's a blast wet or dry! :)

Tow her up, she will fit right in. I think that you will have a good time. Everything is going
together, we are honored to have Carl Green, Gene Winfield and Dave Stucky attend this
years show. The show is limited to 500 entries and counting our pre-entries, we are
almost half way there. Very Kool!

Looking forward to seeing the 64, If you have any questions just let me know....

My Merc looks shinny in the rain.

That sounds eerily like my plans, I'll try to get out of work an hour early around 5, want to caravan down with me? Pops & my uncle are heading down in the morning with 2 cars as well.

Ok guys, first I hafta say....I'm a Dewey virgin. I've seen the pics and heard the stories from years past and yes I'm excited, looking forward to meeting some of you in person. The trans is out of the Caddy right now, the carb is tore apart on a workbench, and there's no exhaust under it yet but I'm hopeful that my loving hubby will get it put back together in the next week! He hasn't been to this show (or any others for that matter) in the past 5 or 6 years and he's stoked about it.
