Do you need parts for that '51? I have a spare back glass it's not perfect but would you get you more legal for the road.

Hey Geeeyum, that is a sweet car. I think I remember seeing it at the KKOA nats in Wichita about 10 years ago.

 

Thanks guys....since the passing of Dad, I kinda reinherited my first car that Dad and I pieced together over the years ( 35+ )
I'm hoping to make Dad proud by adding more miles to the old girl.
Dad was at Wichita I believe, Dave...he put quite a few thousand miles on the car since we initially got it on the road.
This has been THE best car we've ever owned, logging in over 550,000 miles and taking my parents to roughly 38 different states across the country.

It is an honor to be a member of the 'Mercs', thank you again.

I would like to add.......over the years we have accumilated quite a few parts.
Sometime in the near future I will go through what all we have and sell some, I know there are some Merc parts, misc. hubcaps, some Appleton spotlights, some skirts, & some other car parts of different makes & models.
The plan is to properly identify what we have exactly before selling.
More will be posted later about the parts.

 

I'm IN!!!!! Make that list so we can see what you've got! I've been looking for some metal '51 skirts.
I'll add you to the list,some time tomorrow. Nice looking car!!!

 

Parts update.

Had a chance to rummage through the parts in the garage over the weekend & found some parts that might be of use to somebody & some parts that are questionable.

Possible use : 3 49-50 Merc grill halves ( no centers )

4 Appleton spotlights, no matched pairs, though.
They are all switch type, not push button

A pair of 49-50 4 door lower quarters
( These are rough, but could be candidates as patch
panels )

A pair of fiberglass fenderskirts
( pretty sure they're not Merc...I'll post a picture in hopes that somebody can identify what they will fit, but they do have the hardware on them)

I'll post some pictures later today if I get the chance.

Welcome aboard, Your Merc probably has the most miles on it then anyone else. That is
saying something because there is a lot of high mileage Mercs on here...

I had to put my Mecs on hold for now. I am messing with building a 60's inspired show rod "Kosmikart" But I will be back on them as soon as I can. I feel like I am cheating on them....lol

 

I need to come up and visit some time, your always working on something kool. Good luck

Straykat...since you're done with the HAMB Merc gathering,how about letting me adjust your logo and making the Merc Club shirts? It's been a few years now,and I want to get some shirts made for the members. What do you think? PM me,let's talk!

 

Ben Mitchell is the guy that I need to get approval. Because it is his art work. I will see
him in a couple of weeks and I will ask him. Kool? We are doing another Merc Gathering
in Salina, KS at the Kustom Kemps of America Specatuclar this year and we will be doing
something with the art work but that won't effect what you want to do.

We are hoping to make it next year to the Rebel Run. Next year?

 

I talked to him last year,and he said I needed to get the okay from you,cause the shirts were done for you. My buddy can do the shirts for me,so i'm wanting to get them going. I'm sure you will do a new design anyways...

With the economy the way it is right now,stuff like this is happeneing....

 

im in heres mine i pulled it out of a barn 2 years ago sitting on a chevelle frame with an olds 455 in it. I traded my chopped fifty ford for it,I junked the 455 and am in the process of putting in a 350 350 combo I know thats the norm
but its what i got and moneys tight. I hope i will be driving it by july!!
