Then they progressed to this around '63/'64: I would give my left nut, to find this car. Went to Iowa, or Ohio back in the early 70's.
Just found an early pic of this car. It is now back up on top of the frame and looking very nice again. The oupe was owned by George Beaumont back then.
Harms Way, that pic is the greatest thing I've ever seen. Is that a family thumb? Or is it something found on the net?
Our club is having it's 50 year anniversary this weekend......50 years....and ALWAYS active. here are a few shots from the drag racing days. We are having a partythis weekend.....150 cars throughout Canada and the U.S invited. There will be much merriment.
yeah, thanks for bringing it btt.......much better than some of the drama threads........tech week seems to come and go so quickly....kind of like Christmas.... btw, what determines whether or not some old pics stay or disappear....not the links but when they are actually uploaded to the board?
Wow! Just did a search and found this old thread. I was surprised to see it still here. Here's some art that Jeff Norwell did using some of these photos, for our shirts at this year's Windsor Ontario Show. I'm trying to get some more shirts made and need a few more orders to make it worth while, so if anyone wants one please pm me. It would be cool to see some more old HotRod and race car pics - show'em if ya gotem.
I realize Im way late on this one, but thanks for the windsor history , Great stuff. Heard my Dad mention a few of these names. Makes me proud of my hometown. Awesome!
Here's another pic of the "6 in a row, watch it go", plus a few more from Cayuga, to add to this great old thread.
there has to be more 50's hot rods!! or new builds that look 50's put some pictures up, lets keep this thread going!!
Here is a early 50`s drag racer that was turned into a street machine in the late 50`s..and is now in one of my garages awaiting so much needed...$..!
Had a little trouble trying to repost on this topic. I thought it might be time to bring it back up to the top. I met with a group of old hot rodders for lunch yesterday and finally got a bunch of pics I'd been trying to get for years. These guys were the "El Dragos" from the Windsor/LaSalle Ontario area and had some terrific hot rods back in the mid 50s to mid 60s. I'll post a few at a time - enjoy! Hope this brings out some additional photos from back in that era.
