Pics of the front door area of the Bob Bond Rod Shop- Shadyside Ohio. Speed shop was an Rod Shop franchise and that is how the two original Rod Shop cars ended up in my area. Bob rents out the main floor of the shop but there is a separate basement area he still controls for his own stuff and I have heard it is full of old parts catalogs etc but I don't think there is any old NOS speed equipment.
Earon- sorry no pic's, but on the east side of Cleveland we had Ronnie Potter who campained fuel rails and a fuel funny car. Hit a guard rail at the Gatornationals in'73 or'74 and got really screwed up. On the west side, Lew Navotny (connected to the Choppers Hot rod Club) ran fuel rails.
I believe Arnie Beswick is from Morrison, Illinois, and still going! One of Illinois' greatest drag racers! Jim
Barbara Hamilton and "Miss Blue" her original unrestored willys. She was the first lady to have a dragracing liscense from NHRA for a supercharged car back in the 60's. She still tours the nostalgia circuit with the car. It sounds down right nasty. Gasser Girl
let's not forget about Jim Pace...Dodge... I grew up around the corner from Jim...He taught me how to rebuild a dual point chrysler distributor.
I knew and visited with the Arfon's Brothers who built and raced Allison V-12 aircraft engines. They were water cooled and the car they had set all kinds of records. If I remember correctly they were from the Columbus, OH. area. Normbc9
I was hope'n someone had pix of Fred Hursts cars. Great cars and clean as a pin. How about Jesse Piatts '57 Vette C/MSPS. B/MP, Daily Bros Gasser then S/S, Super Stock: Ray Christian, Bud and Dewey Cook, Len Silvers S/S, Funny Car then back to S/S. Division 3 Ruled in the '60's and 70's
You both are wrong. Arnie Beswick has lived in the same town...in the same house in Morrison Illinois his entire life. he lives next to my grandpa's farm, I've been in Arnie's house several times.
