Nice thread , I'm not sure on the FED but the Blue Angles T/F was out of Massillion Ohio. Stan Bowman from Canton bought Oties ol' AA/A then had a Woody Gilmore AA/A , Stan was the last driver for the Blue Angles T/F and started into Funny Cars, all his cars were "The Flying Dutchman" with the exception of " The Ohio State Patrol" Camaro F/C. Tim McDonald from Canton was a multi NHRA event winner in Modified eleminator, D/MP with his 62 vette. Gordon

SS racer Doc Dixon out of Carrolton Ohio and who worked for a time out of the old Coultraps Speed Shop in Cadiz Ohio.
My mom went to her high school prom with Stan Bowman. I remember seeing him race in the 70s. Later,Bill
Hi Bill, I started to hang out at Stans garage when I was 8-9 years old, loved it, he gave me a can of Brasso and a shop towel and I polished those Halibrands all night, every night. I kinda got my head stuck in that time frame of racing, 1967,68,69. Sure do miss him. Gordon
Jim Head lives a few miles from me. Don't know him personally, but he's known around here for putting on a pretty good show in his airplanes also.
I was at Akron drag strip when Arfons showed up with his first Allison powered Green Monster and had trouble hooking up. Joe Martincic nitro fuel flathead dragster beat Art with I believe a 12.20 which was as fast as they went in '54. Otie Smith was running a T roadster and Kenny Hiratta (?) an olds powered coupe with hydramatic. Those were exciting days for a 16 year old kid
Don't forget Keith Ferrell! Good guy with a hell of a lot of under the radar drag racing history. -90% Jimmy
No one has mentioned "Gentleman Joe" Schubeck from Cleveland He had Lakewood bellhousings for years with partner Bill Stiskel..
