I love this thread. Awesome work!

 

The paint is basic but, I did this foil work last week. It started out as fish scales and morphed into looking like a pile of coins so I went with it, and burnished foil on some old coins and added them on, now I call it the "Money Shot"

Here is a roof i recently finished for a customer. It looks alot better in person, my camera has a hard time picking up everything going on it there!

 

I cant believe no ones posted the Las Vegas lowrider!

 

I think this show was at the Great Western Exhibit Center,in LA, in 1969 ..... I'm sure it was a show I attended ..... interesting, while looking at the pictures I noticed that Richard Graves built the Ariel Square 4. I met Richard many years later and never knew that was his bike though I remember the bike well.

Here's a couple surfboards I had done for a recent car show display. The blue one was done by Kyle Martin, and the gold one was done by Jon Boy out of Sacramento. The blue one has a lot of details that can really only be seen in person.

I just saw this thread and I had a recollection of the best lace job I ever saw but it only lasted a short while...It was on my OT Torino which I had just gotten into primer..I used to work second shift [1982] and as I walked out to my car at midnght I saw several people walking around my car looking at it and making comments to one another..None of the people were car people and I thought what can be so unusual about Red primer? I expected a ration of shit about the primer but one young girl said it was a "Cosmic Happening" and an older guy [well, older than me] asked if I did it myself..OK I thought, what ever...Then I noticed that the whole car was laced in Frost! I walked around the car and it was weird as the patterns were like someone had laid them out, very asymetrical front to back, side to side and down the sides of the car, nothing on any of the windows..Plenty weird, the Frost way common in the NE in the fall but the lace patterns?..Too bad no pics, camera phones no wheres around, hell, "Back To The Future" wasn't out yet..

Am i right in assuming that your buddy put water on those panels and then fogged in some Kandy and let it dry (let water evaporate) like that?
