Well I was up early and was bored, so I wanted to see what the opinion was on the wheel change. The old wheels are 18x5.5" steel wheels from rally America, and 16x4" ford on the front. Both front and rear have dirt track tires from Coker. The current wheels are a pair of 18" ford wires I widened to 5.5", and the front are stock 17" ford wires. Using 7.00-18 and 4.50-17. Here is the before and after. -Danny Sent from the best app on the web.
Both look very cool. The steelies have the racy, slat flat look to them and the wires have that old timely look to them. I like them both a lot but lean towards the wires cuz I like the original, big diameter wires. Ultimately its your call. Paul
Either set look awesome on that car. This is kinda like asking do like the right boobie better, or the left boobie. In the end it doesn't matter 'cause they're both boobies and boobies are good... That said - I'm digging the spokers.
both look great... i think the change i would do [to either wheel] is color. maybe camel color like the top?
I like the wires. Are the tires on the wire wheels also Firestones from Coker? What's the O.D. of the 4.50-17's ?
front tires on the wires. http://store.cokertire.com/450-17-excelsior-blackwall-tire.html rear tires are 7.00-18" firestones that are 33" tall -danny
he hasn't noticed a thing. he likes his green roadster so much the roadster pickup is like a red headed step child. -danny
I'll be the dissenter and say the steelies look better on that particular roadster. Maybe I'd say different if the wires were a different color.
The one I like the best is the one I am drooling over at the time. Two excellent choices making a different attitude as stated before. Change them with your mood if you can harbor both sets. Love this roadster. ~sololobo~
Yep, I'm not a fan of wheels painted the same color as the body. That car needs something to break up all that black.
finally a guy that gets what this car is about, without me having to explain it. thanks to all for the nice comments. -danny
Steelies on one side, wires on the other. No wait. either way it's your car. You could switch 'em up every other week.
