Who doesn't love spindle mounts!!!??? They're bad ass!!

  5. ran spindle mounts on the street with three different tbuckets over the years. watch the pot holes and beat up RR crossings. sorry, never did brakes with them. figured with the tire contact patch being the size of a dime, stopping power on the front would be more of a suggestion.

I've got them on my coupe project, haven't decided what brakes to run. 5W what are those tires you're running? What are they rated at?

  15. Good question on the tire rating. I see your hemi up there. any chance you have weighed yours? 495lbs X 2, is that close to the fornt axle weight?

Got 'em on my 35 Chevy truck........Really like them.....I am also running the Cheng shin tires......Had a couple of minor issues getting the bracket for the brakes to fit on my spindles......other than that I like them....Torque thrust origianls on back with HURST Cheaters.

Running a modified car on the street without front brakes is not only illegal almost everywhere, but it is also totally irresponsible. Step on the brakes in a panic stop and you'll swap ends faster than you can blink. Causing an accident, maiming or killing someone because you didn't put front brakes on your ride is not cool - just socially irresponsible, and will probably get your ass hauled off to jail. It is no more socially responsible than drunk driving. Bragging about it is just plain moronic.

Drag cars were built to race a limited distance off the highway under controlled conditions. Trying to emulate that look on the street out of misplaced machismo is just wrong. Run brakes guys - you can still look cool with 'em and be responsible....

  19. Yes I agree weasle, Did you see the link for the wintec brakes I posted,

I was concerned about coming down from a wheelstand with the Radirs. That's why I ran 15" 5 spoke Americans for several years. Just for the added cushion of a wider tire. After about 5 years of abuse I've been real pleased, plus you can't beat the look.

  21. Awsome car.

So 5 years ago you swithed to the aluminum Radirs? wheelstand landings can be pretty tough, How many landings in the 5 years.

Yes, I run the Radir front rims and rears.........I have had them on my Truck ever since The DragStrip expressed concern w/ my dragster front runners when I got faster. I really think my Truck looks better w/ them over the spokes I ran before....I need to buy another set since I robbed DDS of the rims........I really like them ...Littleman

I was pleased the the coupe came down from every single one. There were probably 6-8 times it came down harder than I wanted and/or crooked. Still pics show the front tire with a lot of deflection on impact but the wheels are still true.
