I've been driving my "T" regularly for several years now on a model "A" frame. Freeway (fastlane), daily to work, w/ 4 more adults, everyday, allday. Maybe because I shorten it a few inches to fit the "T" wheelbase, but I haven't found any problems yet. I even get airborne on the freeway. I DRIVE!!!!! You know, I could probably use the extra wieght to keep me on the ground. But then again, maybe i wouldn't the 30mpg.

A frames used to be called Flexible Flyers...For a reason. They were made to flex to help absorbed the poor road conditions. It's the reason why the radiators are spring mounted.
Now...that can be a good thing or a bad thing depending on various factors. Even though you thrash you car, with a v6 and light overall weight it's unlikely to be an issue. If a guy is running a blown motor with mega HP, monster meats on the back, etc, etc....the frame probably aught to have been boxed and reinforced;).

Both of my model A's are flathead powered...one bone stock 95 hp, the other a 276, cam, heads, duals, etc,....neither are boxed frames and there are no problems with either car.

I got a stock A that i drive the piss out of it, the clutch blew up when i was doing donuts the other day. Man can i feel it flexing. i would think with anything more than stock you would want it no matter what. But i like the idea of not boxing it, are you guys welding in the crossmembers or leaving the rivits? Adding anything?

You could always chop it, that would reduce the wind drag on the cab, which may help to keep your front wheels on the ground. :D

Rich Wight is Right!!! Flex is good. And if your building a monster engine back it up with a monster frame.

But that Fucker Phucker, that Funken Funny. That Fucker.

Mata... you mean lifts the front like, lifts the front wheels as in wheelies? Or it feels lighter when you're steering? I'm so confused! :D

My "T" drives really nice streets, freeway, everywhere, I have no problems. It has the power to pop wheelies (lifts the front wheels). I just feel boxing the frame isn't always nessasary.

Model "T" Frame - NO - dont even mess with the power, leave it all alone
Model "A" Frame - NO/YES - no for civilized driving. Yes if your going burn rubber & HotDog

I really hope that Murphy's law never bites you in the arse and proves you wrong. It will be a hell of a nasty spill, 4 adults at 70 MPH in a "T". Hope your luck holds out. I'd box the piss out of it. They didn't come with an engine that would pull the front end, and they could not do 70 with 4 adults in them. Prayers to you friend.

I'm gonna have to request photographic proof. I know if I had a car that yanked the wheels, I sure would have a picture!

I'll have to add this to the list of things I'd like to see photographic proof of (broken dropped axles and such). Like he said. PICS PLEASE.

    You'll be fine.

1932 frame - YES - thats when frames got the crurves & V8 with just a "K" member in the middle, the front could use some boxing. (the 32 popularized boxing)
1934/34 frame NO - the cross members are big "C" channles that slide into the main rails doubling up the "C" channles pretty much all around

So basically you're asking about a problem that does not exist on your car.
And you're bragging that it does not exist.

    I don't get this.

Honestly, if you have the vehicle all apart and are building it, you might as well box the frame as it’s not that much extrawork and you get a lot of return. But if it’s already built and it’s not a problem for you in its current configuration, why worry about it?

That there is NOT PULLING the front wheels on your car. I don't care where you set the timing. I call bullshit.

I've seen you driving around, it hauls no doubt.

If you are concerned about your frame, inspect it every once in a while.
