spasecadet~ Thanks! JMD82 and Racrdad both got some good progress done on their cars this weekend and I appreciate them letting me work on their rides. It felt good to get back at it. I have a huge "honey-do list" to catch up on, but hopefully i can squeeze in a little time with my car this weekend and get a little door and rocker rust repair done.

Well if you go back a page or two you will see I was hit by a car while riding my Harley (not my fault) so there has been no progress. I am back, fully recovered, although I cant say that for my bike, but I plan on getting back to working on it asap. Glad you like it, post up some picks of your 51!

OK.....I didnt screw up anything too bad  on JMD82 or Racrdad's cars so I figured it was time to get my ass back in the garage. :D Finding time to work on it is usually my next problem, but after my hangover from Round Up wore off, I was motivated again. I know its boring shit but I started on the passengers side and I welded up the rock guard holes. Then it was on to the rust.....my favorite:mad: Couple of pieces had to be cut out and new metal welded in on the rocker and a small one on the door. Turned out good and is ready for a little skim coat. Gotta stay on it cause I am getting close to being ready to finish the body work. Here are a few before and after pics.

Drivers side is a little wose, but I will try and get to that next week, hopefully! Gotta give thanks to Racrdad who hooked me up with some new hose reels for the garage! No I didnt ruin a good set of Supremes, they have some cracks at the lug holes and arent any good except for this....

Hey spoons, you didn't get that chevy from Carlos did you? We were just talking about that car yesterday and he said it went to Dayton. If its the same car, I drooled over that car when it was for sale, but had one of my own that I was trying to sell at the time and had no more room for another project.

Well I have gotten a little side tracked lately! Something about these bikes makes you want to get back on them after you shatter your face on them? Anyway, thought you might like to see (even though it's not HAMB friendly) what I have been doing instead of working on the '51. Its getting a little bit of an update since I gotta replace everything anyway. First time ever working on a bike, it has been a learning experience for sure. It's just in the mock up stages right now before I tear it all back apart for bodywork and paint.

Did Racrdad put you up to that question??? He thinks I should do the same thing. If it was a chopper or an old school bobber I might consider it. But its a Harley and they look best Black and Chrome, in my opinion! Either way I need to hurry up and finish it so I can get back on the '51.
