Good to finally meet the driver of that mean machine! Will you be making some runs at the KKOA in Salina in July? Or will I have to wait until the H.A.M.B. drags to see a p***?

    hey now....

Nice talkin with you Sully and I dig that 3rd brake light!

Thanks for a great show. The weekend exceeded my expectations. The weather was perfect and the town was ideal. The businesses were genuinely happy to see everyone there. Friendliest show I can remember. You could strike up a conversation with anyone.

The guys from Rock , KS next to me sat and talked to people for 15-20 minutes and I thought how nice it was, no one broke out a cell phone. I talked to several local guys about cars and trucks and every one said they were working on 1 or 2 projects to bring next year.

Sunday Morning I met Mick during voting tabulation and he said they gave out #513 .

Sunday there were understandably a lot fewer cars, however I thought the best part of the Weekend. I have a hard time not judging a book by it's cover. I parked next to a 55 Chevy PU and introduced myself to Billy "Cowboy" and another lady standing there.

Billy invited us up for the weekend when they run Longhorn cattle down the street and have a Rodeo. Sounds like a blast.

Next to the Pick up was a T Bucket-Pearl red and looked brand new. Now after talking with
the owner for awhile i learned , she was the owner. Edna finished out the car after her Husband p***ed a year and a half ago. They always made the 500 and the car was at it's first show this weekend. Edna from Bartlesville, has plans to show the car in Arkansas and Arizona.

Her p***ion for cars was as strong as any guys there. In the early 60's she ran AA fuel dragsters! Living in N. California at the time, she was a drag race demon.

The cars were cool, but the people I got to know made it the best car weekend I can remember.

Can the SK 1000 be far behind?

The only problem with the whole weekend was it didn't rain. Hub and Gloria Harness weren't there with their red 59 Elcamino. Lets pray for rain next year.

weather was awesome..we where talking about all the past shows and how the weather was.we always park in front of the bar,and there have been times when the rain water was so deep it would run over the curb..or it would be so windy it would blow our EZ ups away...
    i even got some sun.....

We had a great time, even though the drive there and back was anything but stress free. T-Bird gave us fits both ways, but made it. That's why they call them "Test Runs"! Already making plans for next year...... Met some great people, saw alot of awesome cars, beautiful weather, good food, cold beer, etc, etc, etc, and most importantly spent a memorable day with my Dad, Brother, Sister in Law and Niece. Thanks brother for all the help, car would have been on a flatbed headed to the house early in the day, if you had not been there!!

Just got home, what a great weekend! Need to thank alot of people, Mick and the boys and girls that make this a very special event. B-scott, Lisa, Hobo Ed , Jo, and the other El Dorodders for letting us tag along. Might post some pics later, but right now kind of pooped from a damn windy roadster ride. Later

Sorry for the absence. I crashed yesterday and had to play some catch up with some
down time. To unwind I went on a road trip in the Merc. Don’t know of a better way to
relax then getting behind the wheel of a Kustom. It’s been kool to see all of the positive
posts on the Hamb. Thank you very much for hangin out with us. All of the kats work
hard to make everyone happy and we have three more guys added to the pack that made
the show run a lot smoother. Special thanks to Aaron, Jeff and Tony welcome aboard.

I was looking forward to our Carl Green tribute and it went better then I had imagined.
You could tell that God knew that the Carl Green tribute was a worthy because we had
ideal weather on Saturday. Months ago when I announced the tribute on the Hamb, Jeff
Meyers pm’d me and he wanted to be involved in building the trophy. Jeff has more talent
then any one guy should have. He has been blessed. Jeff painted the base and thought of
a way to attach the truck. Then it was up to Dudley Baughman to sling some sick lettering
and Ron Myers trimmed it up with some pinstripes. What a kool trophy for the guy that
brought kool to Dewey. Thanks Carl for the Inspiration. When the news got out about the
tribute, Gene Winfield and Dave Stuckey wanted to be there to support Carl. It was also
kool that Wes Jones was there to join up with Carl Green. They were the guys that rebuilt
the Dream truck back in 1979 and if it wasn’t for them who knows what would have happened
    to the Dream Truck.

We are going to start a new tradition with the SK500, we are going to give away an "Inspiration"
trophy. Carl has inspired a lot of people across the world and if it wasn't for Carl I would
not have been into Kustoms and I would have missed out meeting a lot of kool friends and
the Stray Kat 500 would have never been born. Very Kool! Congrats again Carl, One of
the best Kustomizers in the Country.

Thanks to everyone involved and the guys that put the miles on the road to hang out with
    us for the weekend.

    Happy Trails,
