I wouldn't criticize someone else's tastes, but since you're going to be cutting... I've always preferred a neutral (or slightly rearward) pitch to the roof.

Thanks. Not a good combination once you see it on the car. I fell in love with a color last night though. I've always wanted a brown '55 but didn't think I could pull it off. I finally found a brown that works. Just don't know what color for the top half. Maybe sand,or off white. Any visual ideas?

Sand, or maybe that color Chrysler was so proud of in the late '90's... sort of a beigish tan?

Ditto that. Rootbeer brown with a tan two tone is always a good choice.
And easy since the best tan is the root beer brown + white to get the shade you want.

I've been obsessed with squarebirds lately...

here is a 58 before and after

    just some mild custom touches

    lowered
    side trim shaved
    fender trim and emblems shaved
    antenna shaved
    thin gold scallops...possibly gold leaf?
black interior with white pleated inserts and gold piping
    black grille
    white roof
    chrome reverse wheels

    Hi everyone,
I am wanting to add some fender skirts and lower the rear of my 34 street rod and change the wheels and tires to some 15" steelies with white walls and hub caps.
I was hoping some one would photoshop it before I spent money to find out if it would look right.
When I built this car I was into GoodGuys type cars and am hoping to change my street rod into a custom tail dragger type of car.
    Can some one help?
    Thanks,
    Rex

I don't think you have to take the whole roof off on the one RichG photochopped.

No, I didn't mess with the roof line one bit. I shrunk the rear window by raising the back of it, and did the same to the side window by matching the amount of metal between the door window and the rain channel.

    Thanks Rich,
    I appreciate your time!
I am wondering if the lip around the rear fender could be taken away and the same lip put on the bottom of the fender skirt so the body line flows down the running board straight across the fender skirt and connecting to the same lip on the rear of the rear fender? This way the skirt and fender look smooth where they join together. I still want a seam where they join but smooth.
Lower in the back would be cool and higher in the front.

I attached a picture of the wheels to use on my 34 to make it easier to attach to the photoshop of my 34. If that makes sense. Bigger around wheels on the front also.
I was hoping the changes would look more real like it really is the way the car currently is.
Thanks for yout time again!! I do appreciate it a ton!!!
    Thanks.

Hello folks! I have a problem on four wheels and sure could use some direction. The vibe from this car is 1980's abortion and I am looking to rebuild it into a more traditional style rod. I own no gold chains! I am hoping to lose the wheels but don't have a clue on a direction here. This was the front of a 31 A coupe with an unknown rear touring style panel on the rear. If it is too much to look at, let me know and I'll delete the post with no hard feelings. Thank you! Rusty

Just losing the graphic and going to steel wheels would do a lot

And maybe try raking the windshield posts back and going to an engine with a little more presence: A big flathead inline six, perhaps.

Here you go. I messed with your roofline too, to make it more like the 36 you showed.

  23. Can someone photoshop this to look like it's bagged and take out the basketball goal and bird house?

Fantastic job James D... my only suggestion to the cars owner would be to run some more period correct hubcaps. Single Bar flippers for instance, and replace the mirror with a chrome one. Other than that... built it!

Holy smokes that is killer!!!! Thanks a TON!!!
Now I want to think about leaning forward the rear of the roof. I am however trying to erase the "street rodder" look on the cheap though, so reworking the roof back won't be happening. Looks killer though,,,I can't stop staring at it. LOL
Would you happen to have the same thing without the roof line changed for comparison? And how about putting some different hub caps on that people are suggesting so I know what "more period correct" would look like? And if it's not to much to ask, how about changing the mirrors to the chrome style Rik was talking about.
Thanks again, I really do appreciate it a bunch!!
    Thanks you!
