Holy smokes that is killer!!!! Thanks a TON!!!
Now I want to think about leaning forward the rear of the roof. I am however trying to erase the "street rodder" look on the cheap though, so reworking the roof back won't be happening. Looks killer though,,,I can't stop staring at it. LOL
Would you happen to have the same thing without the roof line changed for comparison? And how about putting some different hub caps on that people are suggesting so I know what "more period correct" would look like? And if it's not to much to ask, how about changing the mirrors to the chrome style Rik was talking about.
Thanks again, I really do appreciate it a bunch!!
    Thanks you!

You are most welcome. Very clean truck you have. I hope I got the stance right. I might do another and take out that little shed on the hill in the back, that bothers me a bit.

I agree. Lost the mirror and the tail lights at the same time.
But the guys are right, it's going to be really tough to get the right look if you don't lean that back end down. The ass is too swoopie for a straight up and down back window.

You may be better off going for an early Hot Rod if you can't change the top. Just my 2cents

    Hahaa Rich!

If I'm being accused of making a vagina smell better, so be it...

Not the first time I've heard it either, so no points for originality. Life goes on.

Thanks hotrodhon! You didn't like the tail lights?
I like the 36 head lights! Thanks.

I would be ok with a early hot rod look but there are no hinges, no outer door handles and the windshield is glue in so with it being smooth, how can I go for the early hot rod look?
I would love to see a photoshop version of my 34 as a early hot rod look.
Something's gotta change because the way it is now I look like every other candy coated plastic car and I am in so deep on this car, I can't afford to sell it, or just face the fact that Im going to loose a TON of cake.
    Thanks a ton guys!
'MO I did see the Wes Collins' '34 Roadster on Rikster's site. It is killer. Thanks though.

Tail lights just looked off with everything else so smooth. If I get a chance, I'll try a stab at a more hot rod look. Steel wheels, change the flames to traditional ones, white walls, and a different mirror. Won't show on the photo-chop, but you can get stainless that goes on over the windshield that takes away the "glued in" look.

Adding factory door handles to a glass car is pretty easy and helps the look quite a bit, and ditch the euro mirrors for some peeps or something chrome.

What you guys are doing here is outstanding for us dreamers.

I started two yrs ago to build a hot rod with my FIL. He found the car he liked so he brought it home. It's not what I call a hot rod material. How does one argue with their father-in-law? So I figure it'll give me something to do anyway. Last year my FIL broke his hip and dementia is closing in. He's lost interest. With it not being the car I wanted I am considering taking out the rear set of doors and creating a two door.

Is there anyway someone could cut out the rear two doors off a four door vehicle? I have a 40 four door Lincoln Zephyr. Big really big. A two door would look better, I think. Roof line to the trunk is my concern, Can anyone help me visualize this? I've done the cut and tape the picture up routine.
These are the best shots of the profile of a 1940 four door Zephyr I can find. I'm mostly concerned about the roof line looking good. Any thoughts?
    Thanks , Ctskip

Don't I recall that the Lincoln Zephyrs look a lot like bigger versions of the same-year Fords and Mercuries? I would look to their Tudor sedans for inspiration.

Personally, I think trying to make a Lincoln into a hot rod is probably a lost cause. I'd be thinking four-door cruiser.

Edit: This is the car I'm envisioning:

you have a 40 zephyr that you want to cut up like that!!! man it would take HUGE work I think to get the proportions "correct". If you "just" cut the back doors off and slid the body forward and realigned the roof sections you would come up with a car that has the proportions of a VW bug. I think you would have to heavily chop and section it to make it work?

I'll see how it looks. I'm okay with the heavy chop and realign stuff, it's the paint details I can never photoshop!

Here's my shot at the Zephyr: Stretch the living heck out of the front door, take about a foot to a foot and a half out of the body behind the door, then stretch the side window to match.

(I couldn't resist dropping the car while I was at it:p)

much better, but lots more work than just "cutting off the back door" like the OP was planning!

unfortunately it still looks uncanilly like a VW beetle to me though
