Event Coverage *200 Photos, EL MIRAGE, opening day......................

Yesterday was the "season opener" for the SCTA El Mirage Speed Trials in time Mojave Desert. Sunny, blue skies, and in the mid to upper 70's...bear with me, this takes awhile...

I stepped in front of Gene in the staging lanes and, like the gentleman and competitor that he is, gives the "thumbs up" with his right glove











Mr. Winfield.... hard to believe the man was a legend when I was a teenager and now I'm 60. Yet, he's even a bigger legend today and still kicking ass in race cars, teaching metal shaping classes and building show cars.
He is the one person alive today that is the source for so much inspiration of all car junkies and is living proof that you are never too old to accomplish your goals....

 

One of these days im going to this event, hopefully to participate but to watch if nothing else.
