Check out AutoEzy who are also based in Melbourne.

I know several guys who have imported several cars through them and are very happy. I have also contacted them about potential shipping, they are very helpful.

They also organize transport for your vehicle within the U.S to get it to Wilmington, CA which is where their depot is.

Shoot Pam a line at autoezysearch@hotmail.com. Their site is www.autoezysearch.com.au.

    Good luck!

    HC.

^^^^ As above^^^^ a few people I know recommend Al, an OZZIE. He can arrange shipping through his network of contacts to the west coast for shipping down under.

  7. BenD to move it in the US

Ron Wicks to get it here

You can do the Geelong leg of the Jouney )

  10. I read a thread on here about shipping cars to Auz was real difficult due to government restrictions there.....may be worth a good look for that before you get in to any contracts etc!!

Anything stock or modified before 1989 is fine and will sail straight in as long as you get an import approval before it leaves the country of origin.

It'll probably sound obvious but make sure you get the paperwork right for customs. Title or notorized DMV paper from the seller

  13. cleared up in 1 post.....good one!

  14. I agree ;)

Public Forums are great for advice in general but when it comes to
international shipping of a specific vehicle a smart thing to do is
check with proper authorities in both countries before you enter
into a contract to purchase a vehicle

  15. You are 100% correct. I would suggest to ausbuick to do a little "recon" beforehand. Ask around and find out who the best guys are over there to deal with. There are some places over there that will charge you absurd prices for "services" you don't need, like $150 to steam clean the car, outrageous storage fees, etc. But on the other hand, there are some places that are great to deal with also. And remember, a couple cases of beer and buying lunch goes a loooong way in helping the process go smooth and quick.

Get your approvals, and be extra-friendly with the guy that's doing it. A little bit of schmoozing will save you a ton of headache. Those guys can make your life a living hell if you get on their bad side.
