Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by Kustomgonzo, May 16, 2011.

  1. Hi, i startet 2 months ago to rebuilt some parts on my 390 FE of my 62 bird. After that i am going to paint the roof! I got the bird last year from a older man that had it for allmost 30 years, so its actually in pretty good shape. I just have to personolize that thing my ways! ;) So here the first pictures...greets from switzerland! silvano

looks like a good project, I'm doing a 60 T Bird, just went through a 390 and replaced the 352 turned into a money pit, early 390 has a lot of things that only fit about three years. I really like the early T Birds don't need a lot to make a nice custom, lowered, nosed and decked mine and removed a bunch of extra chrome trim, 9 chrome louvers on each quater, gun sights on front fenders and emblems on doors and top. Just about ready to paint it, can't wait to get it back on the road, started last September to do a quick paint job and turned into a total rebuild.

  3. Not only is the T-bird cool, I dig the tow-truck!!

  4. Nice, i like 60s birds, not have a lot of em over here do. Thats just the thing, you start with something and you end up with tons of stuff to rebuilt... but thats also a good thing; "do it once, do it right"!

Would love to see yours when you done with it, seems like you have done a lot to it! :D So you just swaped the 352 for 390? What year is the 390? Thats it, the 390 is a lot cheaper than the 352...all the EARLY birds have the 352 in it, till 60 i guess. I think you have done a good job to change it...with the money you saved now, you can paint that thing now ;)

  5. Thanks, a 59 Buick Tow Truck! :D

  6. Almost done... just some little stuff to do on the carb! The first ride was great!
