Customs Cars you wouldn't want to be seen in...

  1. I find it funny how my interests have changed on cars "I wouldn't want to be seen in back in the day"! I have recently had two that were considered "granny's cars" back in the '60s. My current ride is a '55 Desoto more door Fireflite, and I love the lines, and tons of chrome! I recently had a '62 Studebaker Lark, I installed a 327/350h combo in and that was a fun driver. I have four doors for my two small boy's car seats, and they are "affordable".

I just like driving something "different"!

I wouldn't want to be seen in a cop car or an ambulance or a hearse.

^^^^ as long as I'm not strapped to a stretcher in back.

there is no car built before 1965 that I would not like to drive... so long as they are original and unmodified.

plenty of shitty moified cars I'd avoid.

Man that hits close to home! Had to have a driver back in '71 when I was building the engine for my '67 Chevelle and ended up with a '66 Country Squire wagon to drive! So embarassing I had to park a block away from work so nobody would see me in it! :)
Sold it as soon as the engine was in and running. Little brother had no taste in cars, and loved it!

I'm still not gonna love anything with four doors... 'Course there is a certain Falcon wagon taking way too much of my time of late...

  11. Any pre-65 is cool with me as long as it's done in a consistent manner (whether trad or not). The only thing I'd draw the line at is a POS ratrod.

anything from the post high compression muscle car era, 1973-1980. No power, no style.
example dodge aspen r/t. Imports are without said.

Any "tuner" car...... especially one with one of those goofy assed mufflers, I'd rather walk.

Depends if you're the driver or the passenger. Besides, the wooden overcoat will stop people seeing you in a hearse.

  23. which two?
eco-box, any import and any mini van

  24. I drive a run to the mill no options '56 Ford 4-door. I am sure many people "back in the day" would have not wanted to be seen in one. I love my '56 and it always puts a grin on my face driving it around.

I would never want to be seen in a ricer, r** rod, or anything that looks cobbled together like a two year old built it. I would rather drive around something that looks like a lot of time, effort, and passion went into it.

Prius's are an embarrassment. When I have to road test one, I hang my head in shame.
    R**rods too.
Smart cars? Sorry, not in traffic.

  30. I'll take that Country Squire wagon, or nearly any other wagon! Owned lots of them. Tough to beat the overall utility and usefulness of a nice station wagon. My current "wagon" is a 1971 IH TravelAll with a Perkins Diesel and 5-speed. Hard to beat something gets nearly 22 mpg empty, and easily tows #9,000 worth of whatever I want to pull down the road!

Oh, and I've owned at least a doxen wagons...and one hearse!
