I am looking for some visual motivation. Late 50's to Mid 60's Fords and Chevys. Think a shave, a drop, some paint, some Big or Little whites , Kustom Hubcaps or Chrome Reverse wheels, Grill mod, and tailight mod. I remeber seeing a suede green truck from texas in RJ that was spot on. Post em up!!!!

    PS Yeah I searched:D

I need to look for more stuff but here is the only truck picture I can find right now. Sort of a "spicy" mild.

Yea, hot rod, custom and drag trucks aren't all that much of a novelty around here. I can remember seeing them on the streets from the early 60's (probably before that, that's just as far back as I remember) til now.

Great idea for a thread, if someone who has a bunch of old photos, has a bigger photo of "Marylin's Truck" that was in one of the more recent Hot Rod Deluxe, I'd tip them for sharing it.

I'm gonna repost this one from the other thread here because I REALLY like it. I even liked it before I found out it had a Hemi in it.

not period perfect, but traditionally inspired and shooting for 1960, first year metalflake was on the market, and if I was around at the time I would have had Larry Watson do the paint.

Why thank you sir, after my family she is the second love of my life and regardless of the "I built it for me no one else" tough guy brigade, as an Englishman any form of compliment from you guys over in Kustom Motherland means a lot.

Wow, everything is coming up Joe Barnett for me, I guess.

But the third truck--the one pictured with the motorcycle--belonged to Early Times Founder Joe Barnett when this photo was taken ... in my city, Long Beach, as I recall.

Jim Aust did a bitchen two-part profile of the guy for The Rodder's Journal, is how I know all this stuff.

And ... the truck has, I think, a '53-'56 F100 bed (but I could be wrong about that) and Chevy truck rear fenders.

Also, a Cadillac engine from the period--not the 303 but, I think, the one after.

Also also--painted by Winfield, who dropped the paint can outta his gun and splashed the right rear fender as he was finishing the job, so it had to get repainted.

And that's all I have to say about that.

    Neat truck.
