I'll post here and on the show's Facebook page how things look when we get to Latimore early this afternoon. Saturday's weather is still looking good, we're just gonna have to dodge the puddles.

Everyone be safe in their travels to the Showdown. Looks like gas prices have "softened" a little bit. Still expensive but every penny helps. For those attending for the first time, wear some shoes that you don't treasure too much....Don.

I have been seeing alot of awesome rides on my way to and from work heading south, most likely going to Ocean City Md car cruise. A few Rods looked like they should be at the Showdown instead. Someone needs to inform these people that they are heading to the wrong show! What are they thinking! As for the muscle cars, yeah keep going south!

We are at Latimore now and it is in surprisingly good shape.
Still going to be some spots we can't use. Most of the camping
will have to be moved on the hill by the museum. We're gonna
    make it work.

Will spectators be allowed to park in the museum parking lot?

  6. 1 of our friends went to that show 2 years ago cause his friend told him it was great .
then last year he came to latimore and well he wouldn't miss this show ever again .

  7. Is Anybody looking for a room, looks like I might have extra one for tomomrow night and sat. night. It is right up from the" Rodeway inn" at the "Nebsit hotel". The place is a little old but cool, clean and cheap. Very nice people, $50 a night for a double. I don't know for sure yet but PM me if you are, or somebody that you might know that is looking for one. I will be setting up in the swap meet in morning, space #50. I am loaded with stuff !!!! not sure how I am going to get all on a 10"x 30" space but I guess i will just pile it up. Picked up a Model A pickup bed out of a barn yesterday if anybody is looking for one. i have it on the Tk. asking $375. Plus have lots of other things. See everybody in the morning, Tom

Leave tommorrow at 11, not a single highway on the route I mapped out. It'll probably be an 8hr drive instead of 5.5, but seeing the backroads of America on the way to the most American Show on earth, makes me want to pe***ion to put ScarryLarrys face on the statue of liberty!

  11. First, can't wait til tomorrow! Wish I could get out there tonight.

Magnus, there really is no way to get there by train. It's probably about a 4 hour drive or so from NYC.

Last nights rain did not help our situation with the grounds.
We'll get by, we always do, but if you've been here before you
know what we deal with. We are going to try to keep cars off
the infield today so it doesn't get too torn up for tomorrow.
The forecast for tomorrow is still perfect...but things are REALLY
    mushy here.

Most of the vendors are in with very little problems. We may only
be able to use about half of the infield because of the standing water
in spots. Please don't freak out because we may have to park you in the
field behind (where we normally park the trucks) we have to work with
    what we have!
