This weekend the Early Ford V8 club I am in went down to Lewiston, ID to take a tour of the Snake River via powerboat! It was about a 120 mile drive each way, and the river trip was 100 miles each way! We had a blast, weather was good and drinks were cold :D We left Friday morning taking back roads to Lewiston and we had a garage tour that afternoon.

    Heres some pics from Friday:

My Dad had the pin come out of transmission linkage that holds the throw out bearing arm to the linkage....meaning no clutch! A lock nut and bolt got us back on the road in no time :D

From there we continued to Lewiston. For those that have been there, Lewiston is down in a hole. You go down a very steep grade for 6 miles. Trucks have been know to loose there brakes, and there are runnaway ramps all the way down.

I was in love with this thing. A 41-48 Ford or Merc ragtop is next on my "list"

This morning we did the boat rid. We left at 8 and got back at 5. Like I said, it was a 100 mile run each way! These boats have 3 Yanmar 6 cylinder turbo diesel's and they haul! We had about 40 people on each boat (2 total). Going upstream we were going about 35 at about 3700 RPM, coming back down we were going about 50 at 3000 RPM! It was a blast! We saw bear, sheep, big horns, eagles, etc. The canyons are know as "Hells Canyon" as it gets very hot during the summer. Those boats were crazy, they cost around 300,000 each! If your ever in the area and have a day I recommend it, super cool way to see something you probably will not ever get a chance to otherwise!

You know what would have topped this? If the boats were powered by early Ford V8s too! :D:D:D

Thanks for sharing. Looks like y'all had a good trip!

That does look like a great trip. Is it anywhere near where Evel landed? Those carvings give you a sense time. Just awesome.

Road trips, what could be better? Great pictures, the barn picture is a winner for sure, somehow it just does not look real. Looks like you had a great time thanks for sharing the pictures and story. Incredible group of early Fords.

That belongs to a friend of mine in the club Chuck. It is all original, down to the pain! Found it in a garage in Spokane!

The guy said he found and bought an old piano there in Lewiston about 15 years ago for 700.00 to put in his garage. Shortly after some piano collector came by and saw it and said he had to have it. He traded that 35 roadster for it as you see it! Must have been some piano :D

I have a 100 year old Lester Baby Grand Piano in my living room.....ask him if he wants to get another so he can tickle the ivorys. I'd take that '35 off of his hands haha!!
