Watching it on the Weather Channel right now...looks like a war zone. Horrible devistation..Just said there may have an explosion soon at the hospital. Hope everyone is safe.
Hope everyone is ok. Prop Strike just called me to give me a heads up. Looks pretty bad. It's heading for Ben and Missy Delozier now!
I just talked to dad in Scammon KS, and wrenchbender, in Waco MO. They said their were several tornados in the area, the worst being in Joplin. Dad repeated the story about the hospital being expected to blow up. From Kansascity.com: JOPLIN, Mo. | Authorities say a tornado has hit a Joplin hospital and caused the roofs of two city fire stations to collapse. Jasper County Emergency Management Director Keith Stammer says a tornado hit the St. Johns Regional Medical Center on the citys south side. He said there are multiple reports of injuries from the twister that struck around 6 p.m. Sunday. There also were broadcast reports of damaged businesses and vehicles overturned on highway entrances elsewhere around or near the city. KansasCity.com will have updates when they become available.
good about Ryno, and now tornado on the ground at Pineville, MO in McDonald county which is where I am from
Just got back from Reading KS where an f3 hit last night. Drove down this morning to help them clean. (all three of my sisters live outside of Reading and two of them had quite a bit of damage last night). I feel for the people of Joplin, it does not look good.
It looks bad, They are saying the hospital lost it's roof and just so much damage in and around Joplin. Lets hope it didn't take any lives.
We are 90 miles due east of Joplin and have pieces of building materials in our field that just fell from the sky!
HOLY SMOKE! Its is horrible to see such disaster. I hope that the people of these areas are ok.... buildings and belongings can be replaced. I guess living in a place where we don't get tornados make them seem even worst... if that is possible. My thoughts are with the people of Joplin and affected areas..
Damn, bad weather everywhere, we just had an f2/f3 tornado go thru Minneapolis MN. 3-1/2 mile long destruction path thru dense housing area.
there are actually 2 big hospitals at Joplin across from each other plus all the related clinics and Dr offices surrounding them. Looks like alot of loss of life from what I can tell.
I hope everyone is ok. This has been a really bad year for weather. Keep us updated. I will keep you guys in my thoughts and prayers.
wc showed a hospital about an hour ago. stated 22 injured, one dead. my prayers may not be much but they are being said.
just talked to my friend from Arrora he is in a tow truck is going to a wallmart that was leveled to pick up a totled car sais a nother storn is comming in to him had to go got a second call
How about Pork-n-beaner, I think he's a couple hours north of there, anyone heard? My thoughts and prayers to everyone there. TR
What a mess, hopefully not to many injured. Just got off the phone with my brother in Shelbina, he said they're under a watch there as well. My mom lives 5 1/2 hrs south in SE MO and it isn't looking good there either.
Is Larry (46chevy) OK? He is just North of Reeds, MO, which is just 15 miles NE of Joplin...and that's the direction the storms were moving. He did work on my Terraplane and my '56 Plymouth wagon when I had those. What a mess out there! Prayers are out for all involved. I've been totaled out by an F-4 twister in May '03. There is NOTHING good about a damn tornado. Nothing.
