Denise, That is RangeLine and MacArthur. From the reports of where the damage is, he would be outside the edge of it.
Kcsledz do you know if the host motel for the hamb drags was damaged, the best western i think it was on rangeline rd? the loss of life is terrable and prayers go out from our family to all involved. god bless
http://www.radioreference.com/apps/audio/?action=wp&feedId=2798 Not sure if this is the scanner the Kevin posted above...my sister posted this on Facebook & it makes me feel helpless listening to it. If anyone hears from JimC or WZ Junk/ John Kimbro please let us know. Ryno, glad to hear your safe. BenD & the Boss...glad to hear you guys are safe also. Everyone down in SE Missouri...in the thoughts tonight. Chris Nelson Kansas Sent from my iPhone using TJJ.
As a reference, as most who have been to the HAMB drags likely visited the Wal-Mart. This is the Wal-Mart at 15th and RangeLine....
It should have missed the host hotel. Stuff under 32 Street may have got debris not should not have got bad damage. Cant fine any info on the news on it.
Denise, That area is Webb City and should be fine. My mom lives about 2 or 3 miles from Ryno and I have talked to her a couple of times she said everything in the Carl Junction / Webb City areas are OK. Have also heard from my wife's youngest sister who lives near Range Line and Zora (about half way from the Holiday Inn and the McDonalds you referenced) she said they were all OK as well.
Really a bad situation. Looks like they are letting some neighborhoods burn because all the emergency people are tied up with rescue and recovery. I'm thinking the 24 reported killed will go higher. Weatherman here in Tulsa said his brother say a lady just laying in a field. Another report from the hospital a nurse said she saw a 300 lb. man just sucked out of a window in the hospital. Very bad hope all our HAMB brothers are ok.
my wife was at the residence inn, same parking lot as the host hotel, holiday inn no damage there, lots of debris. jimc should be fine, as mentioned it didn't go that far down rangeline. if anyone is interested in coming out to joplin to help, i have room and food for you, as long as you'd like, no free loaders though! ill be home tomorrow,as long as this storm dont mess with me coming down south form Indiana.
Heading over to help in the morning. The calls I've gotten tonight from Joplin hambers and friends I know there, are mostly good reports of their own properties, but there is tons of damage from 15th to 32nd.
Wow,that looks bad! Have been listening to the Jasper County Law Enforcement radio. Christ what I would give to be there right now with a med kit. Good luck to all there. Doc.
I know Doc said he spoke to our Ben D, so did I just 5 minutes after it passed over his place. he said there was no funnel but he could see the clouds rotating overhead. Glad ben and his family are alright.
Just aweful. Lots of family and friends there...so many people hurting tonight and many still missing.
I hope the everyone is ok.... anyone know about the host hotel for the drags, and the drags are they still there?
