Maybe a slight bit offtopic car,I guess I live so far away from everyone else that I'm safe. At least it was made up in a traditional way. Slotmags, bigs and littles, rake, flames, pinstriping, and a name 'The Curse' :)

56 Mercury Montclair, two tone green and white. Clean as a whistle. I was a teenager living at home. My old man was a******. He didn't want my car taking up space at his house. A handicapped lady two doors down asked me to park the car in her driveway. Yep, she asked me. She was affraid of criminals thinking no one was home and figured it would look like there was a man in the house. I went away for a weekend and my old man went down there and sold the car. He said I was taking advantage of the crippled lady. The old man didn't have the****le to transfer ownership, I did. So I went to get the car back and the new non-owner had already torched all the wheel wells out to make a dirt track car out of it. AAaaarrrggghhhh!!!!!

The first ride I owned was a 1959 Ford Galaxie with a 292 and 3-speed. Bought it in June 1965 after graduating from high school. Soon added a 4 barrel intake/carb and dual exhaust from a '57 312 found in a junkyard. Next came traction bars and cut-outs. Six months later traded the '59 in on a '63 Galaxie 500 boxtop powered by a 406.

    1954 Chevrolet 210.

My old man made the mistake of telling me I could only spend 1500 bucks but if I would stay out in the garage and help him we could fix whatever I bought up.

10 months and his money spent. :) I got my first ride.

To bad a drunk driver at 2 in the afternoon ran a stop sign and I tee boned his POS. He was fine and I got a bruise around my whole chest in about a 18 inch circle from the steering wheel.

    Oh the memories... Good Thread

My 1964 Fairlane 500 the day I brought it home in February of 1987. It was purchased from the original owner who was Mrs. Lena Hale of Countyline Road, Marlow, Oklahoma. I gave her $500 for it and it's mileage was about 87,0000 original. I traded it off in '88, bought it back in 1996 and hope to have it back on the road before the end of summer. Every time I think about trading it off I remember Pat Ganahl's love hate/relationship with his first car, a four door 1946 (I think) Chevy.

<---- The red nova is my first car. Bought it when I was fifteen and put all my hard earned paper route money and a lot of time with dad into it.

My first car on the road and legal. A rotted out 56 Nomad I paid $30. for put a 283 in it, came with a six. Had a 3 speed trans. Drove it out to NY National speedway and claimed it was a 265. The tech guy was a lot sharper than me and put me in some class where I got my doors blown off. I wound up junking the car and put the engine in my first MG.
