Also see "squirrels norway" on facebook with some pics from the weekends "Bonanza" meeting. Only 1 year to wait now..........
Here is a photoshop from a friend but i wounder how it would look with the stock lights freched like the shoebox lights in the picture?
Did a quick try with the old rear light... but quite unsure of the rear light question... And changed the wires to the bonnet and monted some teardrops
Im not sure eighter.... it dosent look so clean or sleak... but then cutting disks and welding wire is not that expensive
What about using some 1953 buick taillights instead: It'll make the car appear a little longer, but I guess it requires some quarter panel modifications to look good!
Sorry not quite fan of the 53`s but i have looked and made a lot of thinking for buick 1949 rear lights also..
I have been looking at that picture and it could work on the center "line" on the fender, i have also looked at it freched on the top of the fender and shape it after the lights?
Finaly made up my mind and started to remove the portholes, got finished this evning with welding, leading and a tinn layer of bondo...
at first, i thought to myself, you guys are smoking some good s**t, but as i looked at it more..... right out of the park nikkke, HOME RUN. That car looks really slick. Everyone that said you should shave 'em, was right.
Hi, another Norwegian here, just getting started, and I don't have an on-topic car yet, but your Buick looks great so far. I really like the slick look of the rear end, so I don't think you should put any rear lights on the quarters. How about some smaller horizontal ones in the bumper, or right above it? Or even in the bumperguards. Or maybe frenching the original ones but set them lower than original, just right above the bumper.
Great looking Buick! why not use the taillights turned sideways, as they were in the picture, but lower them, so that they are the same height as the trunk? PS. Losing the portholes is looking great! Keep up the good work!
Sweet ride, sir! Saw this the other day: http://www.flickr.com/photos/wonder-years/3644316658/in/photostream/ made me think of your car. Best feature for mind was the 1954 Mercury tail lights. Would look a treat. Bit of work, but.
Thanks everybody! Cant make up my mine of the lights, currently looking at bumperguard taillights... time will show
Have you considered Corvette taillights, the 56/57 or 58/59(60?) style? Mounted on the top of your rear fenders? They are different in size so not sure which would suit best. Here's the 56 style. 58 style they could definitely fit with the sleek smooth lines on the Buick. Cheers Bret
