I'm putting a '61 235 in my '46 fleetmaster coupe. Already have the headers and glass packs for it. Should be a lot of fun riding around with a "buzzin' half a dozen".Still undecided as to whether to do the twin carbs.
I have a 1970 chevy nova 230 i6 which will be getting stroked to 250 and will be going in my '54 chevy 2dr. Behind it will be a T5 out of an 1985 s10.
R&C Ron, thanks for sharing! That's great info especially for a Nicson fan like me. I was outbid on eBay last year on an original Nicson brochure so this really is appreciated.
I have a 250 chevy with dual carbs on a offenhauser intake , Mercrusier boat motor camshaft and headers tied to a t-5 five speed. Now just need something to put it in.
This is my 250 chevie, soon will be in my 51. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/picture.php?albumid=20752&pictureid=286116

Six In A Row Do Go! Once had a 58 GMC Suburban with the small six and a 3 speed, ran like a watch and could pull a trailer without effort
Awesome thread. I just bought a 1948 Pontiac with an i6, and after reading this thread, I plan to run it as long as I can. I'll have to look into some performance mods for it now. --John
here are some on e-gay http://shop.ebay.com/i.html?_nkw=inline+six&_armrs=1&_from=&_ipg=&_sop=2 and there is a guy here on the HAMB that is sold out of some really cool ones and he needs to make some more! http://www.traditionalhotrod.com/forsale.htm I have plenty, just send me that valve cover and we can trade!
This is my 230 cu. in. '58 Dodge six in my unrestored '36 coupe. The engine has been rebuilt, but patina'd (OK, I'm guilty of it too) to match the original which was beyond repair. These things are strong and capable - don't sell them short.
Hey guys I just bought a 51 chevy with a post 54 235 6 banger. where do you put the water and oil sending units in the motor. the motor is freshly rebuilt and while they did that they converted the car to 12v so they did not put the sending units in (since the gage is 6v). I really want to see temp and oil pressure since its a new engines (only about 300 miles on it) guy spent $3500 rebuilding it and I do not want to ruin it and with such low miles I want to make sure it is not running to hot..
Here is my '47 216 full pressure Chevy six and it has over 60,000 miles on it right now. It runs great. Normbc9
Just use "Volt-a-Drops" in the gauge lines and they'll work fine. It will be lot cheaper than going the other way. Normbc9
