So this guy wants to join our c/c..and is in another c/c....is that ok?I havent brought it up with the other members, and with me its ok...cool guy and all, nice car, whats your opinion?..and ya, I know I may be opening a can of worms.Bring it on.Thanks.
Anyone that can afford dues on two C.C.'s I would let in. Obviously they can afford to buy the beer also.
This might sound stupid, but.....aint a car club supposed to be a group of buddies that are into cars? and i would think its "invite" only. I look at it this way: im having a party in my garage w/ my pals and this dude knock on the door askin to join. i might let him in but call him a brother is a diffrent thing. but then again, theres car clubs to which you can join by mail....
no multi clubs for the MidKnights. It might fly if we ever get a chapter in utah, but any other location and there's no club polygamy.
"car clubs" usually accept any members who want to join, and use dues to set up car shows open to the public, get radio stations involved, support charities, etc. Sounds like you have a shifty little "car GANG"
I actually belong to an MC that is a life long commitment, pretty much blood in blood out. Car Clubs are not really like that that I am aware of. To the OP this really isn't something that you should be asking us it is something you should be asking your club members. There was a time when car clubs were based on racing or winning at something. So there became a lot of rivalry between clubs and sometimes even bad blood. That doesn't seem to be the case today, so it shouldn't really be a problem. But like I said it is up to your club members not up to us.
there could be a chance they give the "secret" hand shake away. Then the two clubs would have to dance down some alley snapping their fingers.
I got burned out with having to travel with the "club", eating with the "club" , staying at the motel that the "club" stayed at or camping in the area that the "club" camped in and going to the events that the "club" chose to go to a long time ago. I've still got the club vest hanging in the closet though. Clubs can be great but I think that there are too many now that are more about lifestyle than just a bunch of people who enjoy the same kind of cars and want to gather in a group to enhance that enjoyment. Normally I don't even travel to events with my two best friends as one thinks every vehicle needs 15 inch wide tires on the back to be a hot rod and the other thinks that if it doesn't have the latest and newest trick of the week thing on it it isn't cool.
I laughed many times on these replies. Good times, guys! Gotta say that it should be a club decision.
just went through this, i have very diff style cars, gasser, custom, antique, hot rod, and stock... my one club covers all, but its very casual, our motto is no dues no donts, unfortunate for me, the no donts brings some problems,, it does not take much to get in...and some cars are questionable ....any how i joined another club that is a tight group of car guys which is great xcept you can only fly the plaque on that certain type of car, which does not work for me, as i like em all and i like to fly a plaque sooooooooo my feeling is... there is a fine line, yes you should be true to one club only if your real serious, need that and it works for ya....like most mc clubs its the club/brothers first then whatever else.....im not that serious i just love cars....see ya on the road....in what? depends how i feel that day......
Its one of those things you buy at a truck stop to whack your tires with. The hardest thing for me with any type of club is the rules. I am not really very good at the rules.
I belong to 5 clubs. I am the only member of each one. it was the only way to keep out the riff-raff. I may have to drop one though, the dues are killing me.
