Well Guy's and Gal's I got her home, it's pretty rough. I don't think I have the time or the energy to take this one on. I wanna spend my time riding around in the other ones.

Change my mind if you can. I ain't never done one this old, is everything I will need available? How much work is there to this, I see a need for a lot of patch panels for one thing.

go on , you can do it!

  5. Damn, is THAT what a REAL find looks like before the restorers find one? I'd know less about the structure of an A Tudor if I had found one that damn good and less about resto parts. If my car was like that at when it was stripped of good parts by restorers, I would have less experience.
I also know that my money walks only so far and I bought what I bought and most of the time you will get what you paid for.

  6. I've seen and fixed worse. Good score.

That "A" really doesn't look all that bad. At least it doesn't have all of the wood that a 1930 - 1931 Chevy has.

Is the GMC going to be saved, too? Looks to be about a 1937?

Wish you lived closer Bob, I'd gladly take it off your hands.:)

  11. sure you can....but, the question you need to ask yourself is do you want to...

If you decide no, then I'll swap you a kangaroo steak for it...

    that'll put a spring in your stride...;):D

    Cheers,

    Drewfus:)

P.S. you should be able to 'flat-pack' it and stick it in your bag ready for your next trip to visit us and bones here in Oz. I'll supply you some clothes when you get here...:)

Bob, the model A is probably the most disected and resurrected automobile in the world. You can find any part to fix it, whether repo or original.

You really have something nice to work with Bob. That's a great start to a fun project.

Very nice find.. I like the 37 GMC in front of it as well.. Those are getting very rare.. Im building the 37 chev just like it.. Good luck on the new project..

  16. My Fordor was just like that when I bought it. Generally solid but tons of surface rust and pitting.

To keep it from killing me I just treated it with rust remover and painted it with tractor paint in a "distressed" finish. This might be a good candidate for the same approach.

    Here's where I'm at now...

you can do it! it ain't that bad :) . Go fenderless and rid yourself the worries with those. dont worry about the rust alonf the bottom...it could be worse. as for the rest of the body rust...lots of sanding and cleaning and you'll be fine. there is a lot of life left in that A

Congrats man, it looks a lot better then mine when we dug it out of a field in Wyoming. The car already had an "East Coast Section:rolleyes:" done (bottom 8 inches were GONE all the way around). But the body w/o frame had been sitting on dirt for 50 years...

Great score. Get it running and leave it rusty, that way when you drive it to Bonneville every year, it won't matter
