A plug for HAMB'er Scotty Gossens new book, "Americas Coolest Station Wagons". We got our copy from Amazon last thursday, as we were leaving for the TCT spring gathering in MIilford, and proudly displayed the book on the tailgate of the car at the show.

I was flattered, and then humbled to have our car included along the knockout cars in the book.

It's a fun read, and a great representation of all the variations of wagons, from custom to drag stars, a must for long roof owners. If you don't have one, get one!

I finally received it as well. I've only read the first few pages, trying not to flip through and blow through all the goodness. Great stuff for sure!

Got my copy sitting on the coffee table, right next to the latest Rodder's Journal which came at the same time. Great Book Scotty!

Yeah, it really turned out well. Inspite of the pics of a certain Kiwi Bloke, who will remain nameless.....So, then, since the Jangleguy is the author, should we be calling this......THE JANGLEBOOK??......

Your '55 is bad***! It's my dad's favorite car in the book.
    Great ride!

I was stoked mine made the table of contents. :D

Got my copy from Amazon a couple weeks ago, and although the newer wagons and imports really turned me off, it's still a great book.

Hey! Just found this thread via Google, while researching something entirely different. Thanks for posting this, Brian! I had no idea anyone said nice things about me behind my back!

Hopefully, you've all recieved your copies from Amazon by now. For an explanation of why they were late, see the "Thank you HAMB Longroofers!" thread on here. Thanks for the kind words from all who were happy with the book. That's always nice to see. But as seen on the other thread, I did make a couple of mistakes - so please let me know if I screwed anything up, okay? I need to learn from these mistakes, so they don't pop up in the next book.

I'm getting mostly positive feedback on the book, although every single review has panned the inclusion of the Kiwi guy riding around in the back seat of a '56 Pontiac. Personally, I don't see what's so offensive about the guy (I thought he just added an element of human interest), but he really pushes some kind of hateful ****ons on every critic out there. Weird.

Thanks to all who bought a copy and especially to all the HAMBers who built these bad*** wagons! Rulers, all!

Must be some prejudice against New Zeelanders? I don't find it offensive, although a pin up girl would have been better!

Thanks Brian! Great idea. The budget dictates using the Kiwi guy model again (this guy will do anything for free!), only this time, I'll draw some tattoos on him and make him wear short shorts. This can't miss! The critics will love it!

Not sure he's gonna be able to pull off that "pout" for the camera, and I don't even want to think about him doing the hula-hoop routine the girl in my car did! I get sweaty just thinking about it!

Gary Minor's (and my) phantom '62 Pontiac GP 2-door wagon is a**** the cars featured. Thanks for that, Scotty!

Fraud: We managed to slip several Pontiacs into the book, but yours would be my pick for my new daily driver! Great job on that conversion! And a fun story behind it.

Brian: Don't sweat the Kiwi - that boy's a natural born pouter! He also claims to be a hula champ, but I haven't seen any certification yet.

Another "high five" for Scotty!.....Great book! Bit of an ego boost I must say!...never expected to see anything I own in a publication let alone see some of my own words in print...take that Mrs. Gates 11th grade english teacher who thought I was just a dumb gearhead who wouldn't amount to anything!

Thanks for putting Jason's Wud-Winkl woody in there! I gotta get a copy.

  28. Wore mine out already with braggings. Bought five more gave to friends. Repainting the 92 Buick delivery right now with shiny black. Hate to, but selling it once everything is done. Just want to say thanks Scotty, that book is therapy. Now I go work on my new project..."The CARISMS Book...Life is like a Car"

In your face, Gates! I'm a high school drop-out, myself (not really bragging and I did eventually get the diploma).
Great job on the '60 Jethro! You're an even bigger hero for building it the way you did, without being run out of town on a rail, tarred and feathered, etc...
