hamb friendly motor homes? can we start a pic thread?

Here is the story.

 

Too cool. Hope to see it tooling down the interstate someday.

 

sadly, mine isn't hamb friendly. 1973 FMC 2900R motorcoach, all original and was made with a 440 Chrysler marine engine and 727 trans in a pusher configuration. People look at me funny when they ask if FMC stands for Ford Motor Company and I tell them no, It's actually Food Machinery Company.
I don't think this is the right forum for pics, but a google search will show a lot of them.

Hey there this might not be HAMB friendly but this is our 1973 Dodge Sportsman Motorhome and home-made open trailer. This little camper has been in the family since the mid '80's and has been all over the mid-west country-side, with plenty of great memories too. Thanks Brian

Back two or three years ago it was in Gibbon Nebraska. It is home-made. Originally had a flathead engine in back but switched to a Y-block when I saw it. It is very nicely built and would be fun to have. I just had too many projects to give it much serious thought.

As promised, a prewar "motor home" (house car). This one is a Pierce Arrow, and I picked it because it was the most like a modern motor home that I found on a quick glance.

Even more common were conventional truck chassis with a cabin built where a van body might otherwise be found. Something to think about next time you find a Ford Model AA in a field.

Man I love that too! Don't know about the lime green color scheme, but outside (fabrications) and inside is just freakin' awesome! Look's like they took a 51' or 52' Ford F-6 and mounted an airstream on the back. Looks rounded off like one anyway.

This one is so cool. It makes me think of that Heavy Metal animated film, or some spaceship crash landed in the jungle.

 

I think Gerry Burger and the guys from Rodders Digest did an article on this one, or one like it many years ago.

 

I found this image on the web yesterday (no other info posted) while searching for old moving van pix, of all things. It looks like a photo shop, but either way it's pretty cool. Probably not much good in the wide open / unpaved spaces, but still... I wouldn't toss it on the floor. Anyone know more? Gary

Big block 454 twin turbo 1500 hp and then smoke them big ol tires. How fun would that be. I guess there's a staircase up to the drivers seat. I can imagine this would be fun to drive, lot of gas though. Not sayin that's what it has, just dreamin

I was thinking cheap and reliable, 1500 should be a mild build for a turbo bbc without too many exotic parts. Poor guys can dream too. hi performance pontiac had a TT 455 putting down 2800, but thats alot of cash to build. oh, diesel right. snap!
